Republican challenger Jeff Beatty took aim today at US Senator John F. Kerry, chiding him as an "elitist" who is "worried about becoming the secretary of state instead of worrying about the secretaries in our state."

The attack came less than 24 hours after Kerry shook off a primary challenge from Gloucester Lawyer Edward O'Reilly. Beatty, a counter-terrorism consultant and former CIA agent, reached out to the 31 percent of Democratic primary voters who cast ballots for O'Reilly

31 percent of Democrats don't like Kerry? It says something about the other 69% that they cared to stick with that timeserver hack!

The results of the RAT primary in Mass indicates the extent of brain death rampant in that pathetic state.

31% of Democrat primary voters opposed John Kerry. At the very least, it proves that he’s starting to wear out his welcome with the people of his state.

I don’t get it either. This was the first time he’s had a Dem. opponent in a primary.Jeff Beatty doen’t seem to be the sacrificial lamb type to run against Kerry, though

He is not... he's the real deal. Jim Ogonowski was the "sacrificial lamb"; fortunately, Jim screwed up big time getting signatures and now is gone from the scene.

If Lurch gets less than 60% in the general, I’ll be shocked.

Democrat Party Primary Voters do not truly equal voters, or even Democrat voters.

Kerry losing 30% of the "Primary Voter" vote is a very good sign. I'd wager that many of the O'Reilly voters were not Democrats at all, rather unenrolled types trying to disrupt the war hero's campaign.

Kerry will probably win in November, but his base is nonexistent. It is simply lock step mindless Democrats that keep such non performers as him in Office.

Jeff Beatty is a highly qualified man for the job. His credentials exceed Kerry’s by a mile. I live in Massachusetts and it is highly unlikely that Jeff Beatty win the election against Kerry. One of the reasons is money. The RNC NEVER - EVER - EVER funnels one penny to any Republican candidate here — EVER!! Because of that, years ago I stopped donating to the RNC... because I don’t get any return for my money.

I have donated to Jeff both financially and I am working with his campaign.... but, I fear it’s an effort in futility. This is the People’s Republic of Massachusetts - if you’re not a Democrat you’re not considered a player.

The people here prefer gigolos and guys who drown their dates.

The RNC won’t send money to Massachusetts because there IS no Republican party there. The apparatus is effectively dead. Slick Willard drove the final stake through its heart 2 years ago.

“The people here prefer gigolos and guys who drown their dates.”

Not all of us.

You answered a question of mine regarding funding from the RNC.That’s too bad.

Hopefully Mr. Beatty won’t let Kerry get away with one debate for 30 min. aired on Sunday at 7AM.

On this you and I are in complete agreement. Kerry has a D after his name and that alone will get him 65% of the vote.

There is no way a Republican will ever win a seat in Congress or Senate from MA. We are the real moonbat state.

Is’nt it nice when we can discuss a “non-Romney bashing” thread.

Massachusetts is a lost cause and we just need to accept that. I send money to specific conservative candidates for congress and Senate nationwide that are in tight races. If we can help elect Conservative Republicans in the congress and Senate then we do get a return on our investment as it does not matter where they are from when they vote in Congress.

The GOP for multiple reasons has given up on MA and from a ROI point of view that is a sound decision.

If the rest of the USA was like MA, we would be a weaker version of France before Sarkozy !

Don’t quote me, but I think 60% are unenrolled in Mass.
As for Repubs and Dems I don’t know..

I have long heard that the unenrolled were the largest “Party” in Massachusetts, but just last week (I think) I saw a report indicating that democrats were actually larger.

I do not recall where I saw the numbers, but I was surprised when I saw them.

Well, we’ve had this discussion before, but just because the Dems are the dominant party here that enterprising people in the state willing to try to rebuild the GOP should give up, but the national party shouldn’t be wasting anything up there until the state party grows from its current well-past-moribund condition and shows that it WANTS to win and can win races.

Ole Slick Willard should’ve run for the Senate seat this year (as ostensibly the ONLY bonafide first tier GOP candidate in the state), so he could prove his “recently found” Conservatism like a convicted felon “found” the baby Jesus, was true (mind you, it isn’t, since he doesn’t understand the concept).

There is a Republican Party here ~~ however, since the Weld days, the GOP bigwigs in this state have their heads up their rear ends. I see no rising stars on the horizon either.
