Barack Obama's Black Nationalism per Dreams From My Father

Unlike the smears and urban legends that are in circulation, these have page numbers (for the paperback edition, ISBN 978-1-4000-8277-3). These quotes show very clearly that Barack Obama is into Black Identity politics and even Black Nationalism, and he is therefore not qualified to represent Americans of all races and ethnicities.

Obama's only problem with Black Nationalism had to do with questions of its effectiveness

It contradicted the morality my mother had taught me, a morality of subtle distinctions–between individuals of goodwill and those who wished me ill, between active malice and ignorance or indifference. I had a personal stake in that moral framework; I’d discovered that I couldn’t escape it if I tried. But this strategy alone couldn't provide the distance I wanted, from Joyce or my past. After all, there were thousands of so-called campus radicals, most of them white and tenured and happily tolerated. No, it remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.

There is only one "side" for a person who wishes to represent the people of the United States, who come in almost every race and ethnicity on earth, and that is the American side. This country does not need or want a White Nationalist, Black Nationalist, or anything other than an American Nationalist in any position of public trust or responsibility in this country.

Please make sure what you send is factual...I was sent a column recently that was satire and it was sent as fact. Even I could see there was something wrong with the idea that Obama wanted to substitute “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” for the national anthem. Those kinds of e-mails just make conservatives look stupid.
