An open letter from a Democratic strategist to the Barack Obama campaign. It lays out in detail why he's blowing it. Actually, it comes down to one thing: McCain has a message on the economy and Obama doesn't. The Democrats are fumbling away to the opposition their strongest issue!

The Democrats do have a message on the economy and it is to raise taxes which will plunge it into a deep recession or even a depression. People who have a basic understanding of economics understands this.

Its a Democratic polling outfit, I think. Anyway, I think its good advice but at the moment, Obama is playing the election on McCain's terms. He needs a game changer something that can really get him his mojo back.

I think this open letter will give Joe Biden a new theme for his stump speech:

Not so sure, the fact is, the worsening banking crisis is going to hit McCain hard. Obama could conceivably get into office on that alone.

People are always so quick to compain about "The Campaign". Its easier to blame things on a lackluster campaign, than to simply realize that the swing voters just didnt like your guy/gal.

Now that McCains poll numbers are going to fall a bit, watch for the people who will complain about the campaign.

Obama is in a fix. If he doesn’t set out a clear message on the economy - he will lose. If he does, he still loses because his message will not sit weel.

Unfortunately, what Obama cares about most is getting elected. And he can’t say that over and over again.

If Obama can find a message, sure. McCain for all his faults, has one. If there's something Obama said that would make my life better, I haven't heard it. Bashing Bush is only going to get him the voters who already hate Bush. It won't convince any one else.

I don't understand why the Dems want to tout such an incredibly impossible goal unless it is clear and simple pandering to the econuts.

Obama won't be able to use a teleprompter during the debates. If he's not quick to think on his feet, its all over. But I wouldn't be so rash to see say he can't do it. John Kerry did it to Bush and made an election that seemed wide, he nearly made it a win.
