You might want to be careful and speak a bit more gently about people you don't know. There are many reasons people who have been signed up for years might not have been on for a while. The site could have had, for a time, an over run of rudely arrogant posters that drove them off for a while. People could have experienced illness and/or deaths of loved ones and didn't have the heart to participate for a while. Some could have lost their computer and couldn't afford to replace it for a while. Take your choice of any or all of the above...until you know for sure, you should remember that the strength of FReepers is their community and support of one another.

Very PC response, but I'm afraid that this is not the time for the supersensitive crowd.

The overwhelming majority of those "until-recently-inactive" are sleepers... the subtle contents of their suddenly revived interest in FR is a red flag for me every time.

I don’t mean to unnecessarily offend anyone, just some resurfaced critical posts that have me scratching my head wondering if they really feel at home here at my beloved FR. However, even in jest I never suggested we ban anyone, either before or after a certain date.
