No Oil for Blood: Thanks to three American senators, China will be pumping Iraqi oil.

One would have thought that leading Democratic senators who claim to be interested in finding other sources of funding to replace American dollars in Iraq, in helping Iraq spend its own money on its own people, and in lowering the price of gasoline for American citizens, would have been all for it. Instead, Senators Chuck Schumer, John Kerry, and Claire McCaskill wrote a letter to Secretary of State Rice asking her "to persuade the GOI [Government of Iraq] to refrain from signing contracts with multinational oil companies until a hydrocarbon law is in effect in Iraq." The Bush administration wisely refused to do so, but the resulting media hooraw in Iraq led to the cancellation of the contracts, and helps to explain why Iraq is doing oil deals instead with China.

Democrats never SOLVE anything! They simply create more problems to make it look like they are doing something.

I am so glad I took the time out of my day yesterday to go and vote against Kerry. Of course he won the primary hands down, but I wouldn’t vote for the Ketchup King for dogcatcher.

All industrialized countries compete in the oil market for the same bucket of oil. If China gets their oil from Iraq, that leaves more oil from Saudi Arabia for the United States. I would rather see China exploring for oil in Iraq than off Cuba.

i hate to say this , and i want McCain to win in order to stop that Marxist Trojan Horse Obama from winning, but there are no conservatives in Bush’s administration and McCain is an RCH to the right of Shumer, Kerry and McCaskilljoy. There really isn’t much difference. Only Palin is really American in herblood. I mean I love the man McCain, but he has been on the govt payroll his entire life and believes in the govt as the great solver of problems.I hope the entire banking system goes down the tubes and the dollar falls to nothing...who’s gonna work for the govt if the govt is broke and can’t pay them?

I think we are talking pumping oil and reselling it. It’s not about who is the ultimate consumer. and who is to say China won’t be in both places.

No one in Washington represents me.We are without leaders from every direction.Three SOBS have done more damage by a asinine letter than 100 refineries being wiped out in a night. And Bush just hides out in the oval office. He certainly is not interested in Middle America anymore. He did great in fighting the WOT, but a man in power as president of the United States MUST be capable of doing more than one thing at time. Or at least delegate the country domestically to persons who are not complete poltroons. Where are the party representatives who point out the Demoncrats doing this and a thousand other things.I have yet to see one McCain/Palin add on TV, and I’ve given out a score of signs for the yard.Bush let the Demoncrats and their Press beat him down to were he never gave a good damn after the 2004 election, whats the end game now? Smoking, irradiated Tel Aviv because of a lot of talk and no action?

FDR really screwed us and it’s been down hill ever since...the Gramscian Marxists have so permeated our population that most Americans not only don’t remember a small fed govt, they don’t even believe that such a system once existed. I always feel that I am fighting to defend something that hasn’t existed for 70 years.

I look at things in this way, we have people who think like us and don’t need convincing of the truth and liberty of the singularly American way, then the people who must be reached in the same way the Demoncrats do, total and complete warfare in Propaganda and repeating a message ad nauseum. Finally, the lunatics on the base of the left ,who must be engaged as if they were about to get their wish and make us all “go away”.

Remind voters of why their gasoline prices are so high.

In the big picture, this is not the reason why gasoline prices are so high.

McCaskill did a good thing for both Iraq and for the US. How would it appear, to the rest of the world, after a US led invasion, American companies were pumping oil out of the country without competition? It would be proof for those to condemned the war that it was all about oil. This removes the appearance of conflict of interest.

It doesn’t much matter, does it? If China’s buying Iraqi oil, that’s oil they are not buying from somewhere else. It still helps on the supply side regardless of who buys it. In fact it may be better for Iraqis to sell oil to China and use the Yuan to pay back America. A backdoor way to grab some Chinese currency.
