I read about this deal with the Chinese a few weeks ago and called Schumer’s office.

The girl who answered the phone pretended not to know what I was talking about when I asked her if Schumer was now satisfied that China had the contracts instead of pro western companies.

Jesse Jackson and other race hustlers were out there demanding that loans be made to minorities, or else.

True the banks didn’t have to comply but very few companies are able to withstand their pressure to bring mobs to their place of business, etc.

IIRC, severe penalties were in place for those institutions that did not meet certain quotas.

And for all these bail-outs, someone is still holding the property assets. Will the tax payers who paid the bail-out get their share returned once these properties are sold? Who is keeping inventory?

You are correct.

While Rush is all for laissez fair, we must have some rules for loaning money and not giving loans to people with no jobs and no income. No down payment was just fine with Greenspan and he also thought ARM’s were the perfect way for people to get into their own home.

Anyone surprised that people who had nothing invested in their home would simply walk away with nothing to lose.

Plenty of blame to go around.
