Rush is so right--they love the idea that the economy's in trouble (never mind that the housing mortage problem was created by Democrat legislation that put pressure on banks to make subprime loans and relieved them of the consequences). Anything they can use to push us toward socialism is fine with the Dems.

Rush is talking about the housing crisis and tying it to the Clinton administration. We all know that Clinton wrote an executive order to extend housing to former red lined areas.
What no one has yet mentioned is that ACORN was a leader in pushing this extension of credit to unqualified buyers.

We can lay the foundations of this crisis at the feet of ACORN and Barrack Obama.

is this the ‘gotcha’ inserted into the offshore drilling bill? you have to know there will be something given to the democrats if that bill passes - and a new program like free gas would probably get the bill passed - another ‘foot in the door’ that can be wildly expanded

Rush asked "Why blame Bush for the Fannie/Freddie mess when it's the Dems who've all hand their hands in the till?"

Repubs will forever play catch-up until they stop being afraid of making waves. They are scared to freakin' death of calling the Dems on their myriad of crimes -- it would be "ungentlemanly", "attacking", etc. They must remain above such things, donchaknow. McCain has talked about Obama's community organizing as such a wonderful thing instead of bringing up ACORN, etc. If there is one single thing I hope Sarah Palin brings to Washington -- God willing she gets there -- is to drive a stake through the heart of all this damn fear of our enemies.

Here’s what McCain needs to point out.

Obama’s promised to raise social security taxes on wealthier taxpayers.

On the one hand, he takes credit for “extending the life” of social security.
On the other hand, when he’s asked how he’s going to pay for all his new spending programs, he cites 3 streams of new income...INCLUDING the payroll tax hike.

How can he do this? We know the answer. The new payroll taxes will go into the social security “lockbox”, dutifully showing extended life of the system. Then Congress and Obama will “borrow” those funds, spend it on new programs, and put an IOU in the SSA account. The beauty of it is that it won’t even increase the deficit!

It’s like magic spending. And the MSM will pretend it’s real, keeping the public in the dark.
