If Governor Palin were to venture outside the swing states, it would be good to see her visit Seattle and Portland. Washington State has an ethically questionable democratic governor up for re-election who is trailing the Republican candidate. Oregon has a growing republican minority, and a well organized visit might tip the scales. Oregon formerly was about 33% Republican. Now it's about 45%. If Obama shows weakness in these states, Oregon blue-state conservatives who haven't bothered to vote in years will show up at the polls.
If Palin were to visit Portland's waterfront park on a weekend before the weather turns bad, she would likely draw an enormous crowd and her visit would be remembered as an historic one.
