I don’t know that bumper stickers and yard signs do anything other than boost morale

I think boosting morale is a good enough reason. I'm not a fan of yard signs, though, as they clutter a neighborhood. I think a presence on the internet--refuting left-wing garbage, participating in online polls, etc.--probably has more of an effect.

I was pretty discouraged before the convention, as 3 relatives of my husband had Obama signs in their front yards, and one of them is a WWII vet. We'd just pass by and shake our heads. I would cheer up a bit when I'd see a McCain sticker.
