** RALLY FOR ENERGY FREEDOM DAY**
***WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2:30PM***
***CANNON TERRACE***

Rep. Jeb Hensarling
Rep. John Shadegg
Republican Study Committee Members

**Others to be announced**

Please encourage your staff and members to attend so we can send a strong message to leadership on the Hill and to the media. The rally will make a powerful statement that compromises and half-measures are unacceptable with the clock ticking down to an outright victory for American consumers. It will also give us an opportunity to respond to the latest actions on bad-deal compromises.

Forgot to mention, this event is exactly 2 weeks before the current offshore ban and oil shale ban expire. That’s why we call it Energy Freedom Day.

October 1, 2008 is American Energy Freedom Day, the day when the current bans on offshore oil drilling and Mountain West oil shale development expire under current law. If Congress simply does nothing and allows current law to stand, then two weeks from Wednesday will be a huge victory in the fight for more American oil and gas production. Tell Congress not to mess it up by enacting any new restrictions on American energy production!
