Local Houston station online just explained that early assessment does not look good for pipelines. Also, rescue workers not getting the FEMA help with water and food....local congressperson livid that busses with supplies are sitting around. There are also some areas that no one has been able to get into yet. Dire situation for some.

What could have possibly happened to the pipelines?
They flooded?
They blew over like a house of cards?
They were carried away into the firmament? The rapture.
The were burst by the wind and rain. The rupture.
The media needs to be more specific. I have a hard time visualizing how a hurricane could destroy something as heavy as a pipeline. Damaged, maybe, but not destroyed.

local congressperson livid that busses with supplies are sitting around. Uuuuuh ............. don't the roads have to be cleared of debris and power-lines first? But congress critters are used to getting what they want by simply jacking their jaws.
Meanwhile somebody has to roll up their sleeves and do some real work to get the job done. That kind of stuff doesn't seem to come to the MSM's attention for some reason . Instead they concentrate on the load mouth jaw jackers.

The mandatory evacuation orders were made earlier in the week. Do you know when exactly? I saw some folks being taken from one of the islands yesterday and try as they might, the media couldn't get the lady to say anything bad about the help they were getting. The reporter asked at least half a dozen leading questions trying to get the woman to complain about standing in the heat, or the wait, or whatever and the lady just kept saying how wonderful it was that they were being helped and how blessed and thankful they were.
A storm that large, with mandatory evacuation orders shouldn't have been ignored. If they can't get to those who are trapped it isn't the fault of FEMA.

According to your post

I believe that would be Sheila Jackson Lee. You know, the woman who talked confidently about how we had already walked on Mars. The hyper partisan Bush hater. That Sheila Jackson Lee. I think she wants a Katrina bonus for her district just like William Jefferson and the other New Orleans Congress rats got by blaming Bush for their own failures and corruption.
