“There is simply no way Obama collected $66,000,000 from samll donors.”
True. When I heard one of Obama’s “spokes-holes” say that this morning — AND that most donations were for under $100, AND that most were first-time donors — I knew he’d lost credibility with most listeners. It’s practically mathematically impossible considering the U.S. population, etc.
Delaware Punch?
Great story SC and not any too surprising!
Just too good it had to be repeated!
Few if any news/talk shows sport the numbers of a Hannity--13 million or the king--Rush with 15 million listeners. And it is different when you are right!
But I get your drift, just have a hard time doing it any more.
agreed so where "in the world" is this money coming from? I have some ideas but no proof.
In addition Pontius Pilate was not an elected Governor but more like an outpost commander for Rome. To put that saying on MTP takes him down to a new level of ignorance. May as well quote directly from Daily Kooks.
Pray for W, Mccuda and Our Troops
Thank you - I stand corrected (that’s one of the things I love about FReepers - they make sure one has the very latest info).
I had only seen the initial story. It’s still a bit *interesting* to me that she only received the items from 0’s campaign, after she told them McCain’s camp had provided items right away AND written to the ‘I have a Problem’ and, the initial story came out (a little bad PR they had to correct?).
In our brave new world of strict “separation of church and state” a dem congressman actually read that ‘joke’ into the Congressional Record one day this past week.
They have no idea what message they are giving to true Christians.
Bernadine Dohrn and Billy Ayers DREAMED of this kind of figure for decades. Then, they found him in the guise of Barack Obama. The “long march” that Alinsky and Mao recommended as the best way to revolutionary Marxism has found its cutout.
BTTT!
That's assuming that the Rats still control the Senate when McCain/Palin are in the White House. I'm not so sure they (Rats) will...it's going to be an interesting 50 days...
Keep in mind all the totally free publicity McCain/Palin is getting since she was added to the ticket. Plus the RNC is flush and even though they cannot advertise for their candidate by name they can easily get the message out by photos and screen grabs of headlines, etc.
Here is the requirement directly from the FEC web site:
The FECA requires candidate committees, party committees and PACs to file periodic reports disclosing the money they raise and spend. Candidates must identify, for example, all PACs and party committees that give them contributions, and they must identify individuals who give them more than $200 in an election cycle. Additionally, they must disclose expenditures exceeding $200 per election cycle to any individual or vendor.
I looked at some of the donations on that site you linked. I noticed that the smaller donations I could find were from people who had an aggregate of over $200. In addition, since the reporting of those under $200 is not required, it is possible for a campaign to report all, some, or none. It may be that legitimate small donations are being reported while illegitimate ones are not.
Also, that web site is quite a bit behind. I think I will stand by my theory.
Wonderful thought, and possible, but not probable.
Miss Marple,
I totally agree w your theory (IIRC, you had mentioned that some months ago and I agreed w it then (though maybe not on FR). This site was just another 1 I thought be of interest to some. I agree, it does seem to be out of date.
Hope you and yours are OK and your power is on full-time now.
Best,
SC
Thanks! Power is on and we are all fine here. Lots of trees down north of me but I consider we got off very lightly compared to Texas and Louisiana.
