Did you know that Sarah Palin has never been to Mongolia? Yeah, and despite the fact she never claimed to have visited there, we are making a big deal about it because of the impression she left only in our fervid imaginations that she did indeed visit Mongolia.
Think that was ridiculous? Well, guess what? That is exactly what CNN is doing with a manufactured scandal that Sarah Palin never visited Iraq. The problem for CNN is that Palin never claimed to have visited Iraq. Here is her answer in the recent ABC interview with Charles Gibson about her foreign travel:
Canada. Mexico. And then, yeah, that trip that was a trip of a lifetime, to visit our troops in Kuwait and stop and visit our injured soldiers in Germany. That was a trip of a lifetime and it changed my life.

I’ve lived overseas and traveled a fair amount. Most places I’ve been make me very happy to be American.
Foreign travel really isn’t high on my list of requirements for a VP candidate. Honesty and intelligence are.
My parents left the Country every year in February when I was a child, we were 4 kids. They also had people that we loved and trusted with us every minute of those 10 days while they took a well desrerved rest. We were fine. Not unloved, not neglected, not freaked out. I should know, I am the youngest of those 4.
I hardly leave my own often, however it’s a personal choice.
Sometimes it is either / or.
Those of us who create good support systems learn to adapt to the no panic rule.
The Chicken Noodle Network lives up to its ill-earned reputation ...
But...but you're missing Tom and Jerry!
"Is you is/or is you ain't/my baby..."
ABC did the same thing. They misquoted Palin and then said that she lied. She said that if you go through history you could probably find lots of Vice Presidential candidates who hadn’t met foreign leaders. Then they stamped a giant “FALSE” across her face, saying that it was not true of any LIVING Vice President.
There ya go.....you and your parents made DIFFERENT choices.....Sarah made one choice.
Sarah Palin never travelled to Africa with five hundred of her nearest and dearest friends either.
Oh the humanity!
Almost as bad as ....giving free beer and food and rock stars to give a concert to get ppl to come to a speech where you apologize (in English), then telling those of us at home how much the Germans love him and we should be ashamed that we don’t speak Spanish.
Now, how is that for a run on sentence?
;)
My father delivered over 3 thousand babies between 1946 and 1972. Talk about choices, he wasn’t an OB but a GP.
The guy needed a vacation! Geesh.
Unbelievable. You have to wonder what is going on inside the campaign if they are flipping out over something like this. If they were on a path to winning “handily” as Bubba put it, they would not be concerned with camp McCain inflating crowd estimates.
Mom, they’re cheatin. They’re counting people two times.
Shut up and go outside and play. Besides, we have people voting two times. So quit bellyachin.
TO be “fair”, someone on her campaign staff apparently put out a list of countries that included Ireland and Iraq.
But it’s not a lie, it’s just a campaign staff mistake.
When did Palin stop beating her husband? Sarcasm alert!
Now you have to deny saying something you never said? Obamas right he is going after important issues.
I wonder how many voters have ever traveled outside of North America. I wonder how many care whether Sarah has been to Europe. I wonder how many will see this as just another elitist smear against one of us regular folks. Does the Media really think that we are all so impressed with 0bama’s European Tour?
BTW, I’m watching the CNN “Palen Revealed”, and it’s actually a pretty good show. Not too bad, seems to cover both sides.
I just saw that. They are complaining that some McCain staffer said he got a number from a local fire chief, when the fire chief later said he doesn’t do estimates.
If I may say, where are you obligatory /sarcasm thingys? /sarc
