Civil rights activist Peter Miguel Camejo, an advocate of third party politics, died early today at his home in Walnut Creek, according to Ralph Nader, who notified The Bee in an e-mailed tribute.
...Camejo was a third party candidate for state and national office. He was Nader's running mate in the 2004 presidential election, and attempted three gubernatorial runs in California for the Green Party. In 2002 he garnered 5.3 percent of the vote. In the 2003 recall election, he debated Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gray Davis.

Lymphoma cancer. Tough way to go. RIP, sir.
Lymphoma
"Initially, Camejo was a member of the Socialist Workers Party, a Trotskyist party. As a branch organizer, he sought to reorient the SWP towards the student movement. He was the SWP's nominee for President in 1976 and won 90,986 votes, or 0.1 percent.
The SWP's policy was to turn its members into "proletarians" by having them take jobs in factories and advocate for a worker-based class struggle. By 1980, Camejo came to disagree with this policy in favor of democratic socialism, and the SWP expelled him.
Camejo was quoted in 2002 as claiming that he was a watermelongreen on the outside but red on the inside."
AS far as I am concerned it is good riddance. One less sob that wants to destroy the Country.
RIP.

WOW - What a great, descriptive and TRUE statement on today's environmental movement...
Here's a link to his Wiki entry.
I found this tidbit interesting.
Then-governor Ronald Reagan deemed Camejo one of California's ten most dangerous citizens.
Green Party?
Never heard of it.
That statement alone could get a commie "laid" for life
Rest in Peace, Red Man!
I don’t know much about Mr. Camejo and from what I do know I disagreed with him entirely on politics, but the guy seems to have obeyed the law and worked within the system. One can’t really ask someone else for much more than that.
Someone on FR has a great quote that applies perfectly to this situation. It goes something like, “When an evil man dies, why must we pretend he was a saint?”
A man who has devoted his entire life to attacking freedom has died, and the world is a better place with his death. Did any of us weep when Che died? Socialists both.
Sheesh.
Yep, good riddance to a foul piece of socialist garbage. My family has lost too much to socialism for me to shed any tears over this prick’s death.
Seeee ya
Wouldn’t want to be ya!
Lots of good people lose their lives to cancer.
Camejo wasn’t one of them. Sometimes, just sometimes, it nails someone who deserves it.
