When Karl Rove says that there are 4 versions of the Bush Doctrine, I will take his word for it. Gibson was trying a big gotcha on Palin, and instead he Gotcha’d himself. I’m not sure he’s smart enough to know it tho.

I'll give you two examples of dimwittedness:

1) ZeroBama picking Joe Biden as a running mate and ignoring Hillary Clinton.

2) Zerobama going to Harlem to see Bill Clinton this week an actually believing that Bill Clinton was going to help him win this election.

Doesn’t this dimwitted argument get old. Bush is stupid, he’s an idiot, he’s a cowboy...yet he managed to get elected to two terms while their guys didn’t and has kept us safe from attack for 7 years (something I never imagined could have happened.)

If you’re old enough to remember Reagan days...they hated him, he was stupid, an embarrassment, a b-grade actor...yet he managed to end the Cold War.

Now we have Palin, she’s dimwitted, stupid, trailer trash, and yet she’s thrown the Obama campaign into a tailspin. And McCain, the old man, out of touch, has turned into McGenius for his gutsy pick. If Palin is so dimwitted what are they worried about...leave her to her own and she’ll ultimately fail.

But the truth, as Shakespeare wrote, surely applies to the Democratic naysayers: “The lady (i.e. Dems) doth protest too much, methinks.”

Title should be exactly the same as on the linked article. There actually are some rules for posting.

Mods, maybe you could fix the title?

Herbert doesn't realize a couple of things himself - first, that "Bush Doctine" is media code for "everything I don't like about our current foreign policy." And second, that when Gibson asked the question he was attempting to link Palin to Bush with a vague abstraction that she quite rightly called him on.

But I'd encourage Mr. Herbert to keep up with this "if the American people don't vote the way I think they should, they're just stupid." All the way to election day. It goes over so very, very well.

I think she is every bit as dimwitted and senile as Ronald Reagan was when he was elected.

Maybe even as stupid as Bush and Cheney.

can’t use computers,...

Most of the pioneer computer designers and engineers are in their late 60's and early seventies today. The Von Neuman (external fetch and execute) architecture was perfected in the late 1950's and early 1960's. This is the Intel Microprocessor of today.

I know. I've made a great living with Intel x86 assembly language since 1976! (I'm 67 and have no problem with computers.) My Mother is 92 and uses email and Scroogle's daily. (scroogle is correct - look it up.)

For those who haven’t noticed, we’re electing a president and vice president, not selecting a winner on “American Idol.”

I agree .Thats why I'm voting Republican

The hits just keep on comin’ from the NY Slimes. This is like the 4th one I saw today. I can’t wait to see them all eat crow on election night.

Were they both not seeking clarification on what was meant by the Bush Doctrine. They most certainly were. Same response, just phrased with much different terms. What difference to you see on their intent? I see none.

Kind of like neocon. Liberals love the word, but it seems to mean something different to everyone.

I've gotten the scary feeling, for the first time in my life, that dimwittedness is not just on the march in the U.S., but that it might actually prevail.

Wrong. This is the third time in recent memory that arrogant, elitist liberal eggheads have tried to sway the American voting populace by suggesting that a vote for the Republican candidate equals a lack of intelligence.

This is the last refuge of a losing side. The leftists cannot win on the issues, cannot transform their tin-can candidate into gold and never could muster the maturity to be respectful with those they do not agree with politically. So like toddlers, they insult.

It worked so well for them in 2000 and 2004, didn't it? The very definition of insanity.

She's not ready

She's more ready than "Barack Obama", and, as such, she is a deadly virus eating away at the Democratic ticket.

EVERY TIME they bring up how ready, or not, she is, people get a mental image of the community organizer voting "present", and deciding to run for President after five minutes in the Senate.

Sarah Palin is a neutron bomb to the Obama campaign. Something's gotta give.

I thought it would be Biden, but now I'm wondering if little Barry can go the distance.

The Bush Doctrine:

I would hope the answer would be yes. Apparently the liberals are aghast at this philosophy. They really do not care two hoots for 9/11.
