MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama's spokesman on Saturday accused Sen. John McCain of "cynically running the sleaziest and least honorable campaign in modern presidential campaign history." Sen. Barack Obama blasts his rival, Sen. John McCain, at a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Saturday.
Obama, speaking to a crowd Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire, said, "John McCain wants to have a debate about national security; let's have that debate. I warned that going into Iraq would distract us from Afghanistan. John McCain cheerleaded for it. John McCain was wrong, and I was right."
"The McCain-[Sarah] Palin ticket, they don't want to debate the Obama-Biden ticket on issues because they are running on eight more years of what we've just seen. And they know it," the Democratic presidential nominee said. "As a consequence, what they're going to spend the next seven, eight weeks doing is trying to distract you.
"They're going to talk about pigs, and they're going to talk about lipstick; they're going to talk about Paris Hilton, they're going to talk about Britney Spears. They will try to distort my record, and they will try to undermine your trust in what the Democrats intend to do."

That is a powerful rebuttal. Get it to the McCain team.
“Sen. Barack Obama’s spokesman on Saturday accused Sen. John McCain of “cynically running the sleaziest and least honorable campaign in modern presidential campaign history.””
Well, since the Democrap insisted on setting its self up, here’s the punch line:
“When running against the sleaziest and least honorable candidate, one must describe one’s oponnent.
That the descriptions of Obama show him to be sleazy and without honor is the fault of Obama,
Moral: If you don’t want to be described as without honor, act honorably.
If you don’t want to be described as sleazy, be not a sleaze.
The vaunted Obama “counter-attack” has arrived.
It’s a pudding of false accusations and feigned outrage, topped with a thick syrup of whining.
Wasn’t it Barry who warned they [the Reps] didn’t know who they were dealing with?
Exactly!
I hope Obmana brings up his “record” in the debates. I would love to see McCain crush that one out of the park.
For the sake of the country, it would not be bad to reiterate just what happened in the political debate over Iraq.
Let's debate Obama's record!
After years of Bush bashing and blaming Rove, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft and Republicans for every problem they can dream up, Democrats believe if they say it long enough and loud enough that many people will believe it eventually.
Sadly, that’s happened all too often. This time around, it may not be so easy for them to get away with it.
“I warned that going into Iraq would distract us from Afghanistan.”
Was 0 even a senator or anything else way back then?
If not, *who* did he “warn”?
A clear case of accusing your opponent of what you yourself are doing.
They are running an intentionally false add regarding McCain on technology - first of all, McCain has long been regarded as one of the most tech-savvy members of the U.S. Senate, and second of all, he has not gotten into sending e-mails personally due to his disability.
That is absurd on the face of it Senator Obama, as you don't have a record!
Projection much?
“John McCain was wrong, and I was right...”
... Neener neener neenerrr
I trust that the democrats are going to screw us and hand over our soveignty to the terrorists. So Big Mac and the Barracuda have certainly not undermined my trust in the jackass party one bit.
You know, this statement at this time, right after such an intense attack on Palin that most Americans have recognized is really kind of stupid. It is glaring on what sleazy is and it looks pathetic.
The only people rah rahing this mess are the loons on the left that are in self-destruct mode.
I love to see them stick him with wanting to give us four more years of LDJ’s great Society and Carter’s economic and foreign policy. Of course that would really be unfair..to LBJ and Jimmy. Obama’s designs are much more radical.
O-bully and his buddies are looking in the mirror and accusing other’s of their own faults.
