Chgo Sun-Times: 'Sarah Palin Makes Me Sick' By Michael M. Bates Created 2008-09-13 12:43
"Palin should be laughingstock to all feminists" [1] is the title of Mary Mitchell's column in today's Chicago Sun-Times. In that calm, detached tone readers have come to expect, Mitchell begins:
Sarah Palin makes me sick. I hate that she was able to steal Barack Obama's mojo just by showing up wearing rimless glasses and a skirt.
I hate that she makes Joe Biden look like John McCain and John McCain look like the maverick he is not.
I hate that Palin reminds me of Susan Sarandon's feisty character in "Thelma & Louise." I loved Sarandon in that movie, yet I couldn't stand Palin's feistiness at the Republican National Convention.
Sarah Palin makes me sick -- not because she may speak in tongues -- but because she is a fast talker.
Not even ABC's Charlie Gibson can slow Palin's mouth.
There's yet another reason Mitchell's feeling nauseated:
Sarah Palin makes me sick because although black Democrats have been responsible for giving white candidates the boost they needed to beat their Republican opponents in tight races, these voters are now being insulted by feminists who say they will cross over into the McCain camp because of her.
So we know Mitchell's primary symptom, but what's the underlying cause? As it turns out, it's an all too common complaint among the many suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome:
"Frankly, Sarah Palin scares me."
Don't feel lonely, Mary. It's going around these days.
Former New York mayor Ed Koch says of Palin [2], "She scares the hell out of me." Actor Matt Damon calls [3] the GOP vice presidential candidate "terrifying." New Republic editor Noam Scheiber writes [4]:
The reason Palin scares me has more to do with mechanics than demographics: Palin is such a sensation, and draws such large crowds, that anything she says--particularly attacks on Obama--immediately become part of the campaign conversation.
"Rock matriarch" - I guess that's a nice way of putting it - Sharon Osbourne admits [5], "Im scared of that woman with the glasses and gun! Ugh!" And at a Web site that boasts "the latest in green gossip," we learn that singer Pink [6]"is terrified of Sarah Palin, says she 'hates women.'"
The fear and terror engendered by Sarah Palin among Obamatons make Adrian Monk look like John Wayne. Then again, this could be an opportunity. Over at the official Barack Obama site, there's a group designated Pagans for Obama. [7] Perhaps the campaign could institute a group named Sissies for Obama.
Or would that be redundant?
Dennis Prager has an interesting theory about drug use. He claims that during periods of drug use, a person stops developing emotionally because the drugs anesthetize the user from the emotional discomfort necessary for self-evaluation and personal growth. If a person of a certain age has been using drugs since the age of twelve, he will still think like a twelve-year-old. Which explains the political views of musicians and other celebrities.
and that is one of the reasons I love Dennis Prager. My brother in Michigan is a perfect example. He has the emotional age of a 7 year old (he is 54).. druggies are not able to postpone gratification. Of course it goes without saying that he is a hugh and series liberal.
I could never figure out why the left hated our President so much... he spent more money than any other president did.
My only conclusion was President Bush wears his faith on his sleeve and is pro-life... same as Sarah Palin
Put a nice head of hair on a stupid man, he’s still a stupid man.
Do you know what they are really afraid of, equality. They don’t want equality for everyone, just their elite anointed. It has nothing to do do with equality only ideology and their idealogy is Socialist/communist. They haven’t recovered from the fall of the the Berlin wall. They are in denial of the bankruptcy of Communism but they will follow the ideology over the ledge and take our country with them.
Does that “M” for his middle name stand for Master?
yeah yeah what Allegra said....I’m starting to beat all reporters lately
I noticed this on the American Idol message boards years ago - the better looking a female contestant was, the more they all hated her.
One year, Diana Degarmo was the object of all their hate - everyone calling her a pagent princess and so on. Then, during the show's run she put on weight and suddenly they all loved her.
I hate that she makes Joe Biden look like John McCain and John McCain look like the maverick he is not.
I think this says it all about as concisely as possible.

I doubt the dinosaurs worked so hard for their own extinction though.
I think you’re a little confused. That’s the NewsBusters guy.
The Sun-Times has been featuring Mary Mitchell's moronic rants for years.
Even though they know, and even admit, that venting their hatred can't be helpful to their cause of a socialist metrosexual presidency, that can't stop. They are in love in with their hatred and can't give it up. They can't even keep their vile mouths shut for two months to serve the cause.
They didn’t mind when Obama reached ‘rock star’ status and was riding a wave of emotional popularity. He also was never the target of the hate and derision that Gov. Palin is attracting from the left.
Well this should go over big with a huge majority of American women who say “Sarah Palin is me or who I want to emulate”.
These people are coming very close to saying that only liberal women are real women. They make ME sick!
Apparently you don’t live in the Chicago news market, where it’s been a rah-rah fest for Obama for the last 19 months now, and Barry can do no wrong.
Three out of five Mary Mitchell column’s on a weekly basis for these past many months have all been Obama propaganda. She’s a blatant knee-pad wearing Obama supporter and one of the prime reasons I refuse to buy a Chicago Sun-Times. (Granted, I usually don’t have to, there’s perfectly good copies typically left on the train left on seats..)
He makes some valid points, but calling Obama's mother trash is no way to make them, especially for a minister.
