I wonder, though. Is Obama really "fluent in Arabic".
There are reports that he can recite the call to prayer. He can probably recall some passages from the Koran.
But I recall other reports referencing his chiding of the American people for their limited French -- remember "Merci beaucoup") -- stating that he himself didn't speak a second language.
Moreover, Obama had very limited exposure to his Kenyan father...

Doesn't it seem unlikely that he would've learned Arabic from his father in this time frame?
On the other hand, Obama spent ages 6-10 (1967-71) living in Indonesia in his step-father's household. In retrospect, it seems more likely that he might have learned Bahar Indonesia from his step-father than Arabic from his true father.
