"Should I be worried about being a slave or a return to slavery," Goldberg asked incredulously.

What a dumb comment.

McCain should have recommended that Whoopi keep her knees together — for America’s sake.

What a dumb comment.

Its "The View" what would you expect from mind numbed idiots like Whoopi and Barbara Walters and Joy. These are people whose entire intellectual arsenal consists of ridiculing those who differ in opinion.

It's not quite so dumb (only 7 on a scale of 1 to 10) when you see McCain's previous statement: "No, I want people who interpret the Constitution of the United States the way our founding fathers envisioned for them to do,"

Does McCain's statement refer to how the founding fathers expected Supreme Court justices to interpret the Constitution as it was written, or could he be misunderstood to say that he wanted the justices to interpret the Constitution as it was written by the founding fathers (with only the first 10 amendments)? I don't know if Goldberg misunderstood and had a hair trigger about it, or if she used this as a "gotchya" phrase, expecting the conversation to turn this way to make it appear that McCain was opposed to any changes to the Constitution. With how quickly she went to the slavery issue, I think this was a preset trap for any Republican.

Suggested response to Whoopsie:

''No, Whoopsie, you shouldn't. Even in the bad old days of the antebellum South, no one wanted a lazy, loudmouthed slave who ate too much.''

She already is a slave to the demoncrat mind set.

Be glad she made that comment. McCain handled it very well, and Whoopi looked like an idiot to all but the most insane libtards.

She is already a slave to socialist ideals and is to stupid to know it............she profits personally from her ancestors pain and suffering as slaves . The real slaves, the ones that Kenya’s ancient kings sold to arab slave traders.......the ones with arab names......like the POS she supports.....she’s a piss poor actress, a lousy comedian and only parrots what she hears. As she was never a slave yet pretends to be in her multi-million dollar environment. How sad that ABC and it’s viewers support keeps such seditious trash employed.

IMHO she is just a silly twit that’s full of sh*t ~!

Remember, this is the person who replaced Rosie O'Donnell's position on the view because she was too outpoken and out of control.

I don't know why they would agree to even go on The View myself. Such a liberal show.

Uh.. Whoopie is an abolute moron. The Supreme Court did not abolish slavery. The 13th Amendment did.

What a clown.

It is incredibly dumb. My SIL is a Ph.D. in international health and all and when she heard I was a Clarence Thomas/Nino Scalia constructionist she asked, quite sincerely, if that meant I favored a return to slavery. I pointed out the Reconstruction amendments to her and she didn't seem to get that the Founders understood that the Constitution would need to be amended, but in the manner prescribed and not by a bunch of lawyers.

Another liberal friend, who, fortunately, has left teaching frankly said that he thought the people were too stupid to amend the constitution and it ought to be done by the Supremes.

This is of a piece with all the noise about Palin's not going to an Ivy League school. These liberals are, at bottom, elitists who support a kind of aristocracy of professionals. They neither want nor approve of freedom.
