Secondly, I don't care if my President doesn't have an ipod. He's not in a coolness contest with Obama. Again, making this comparison makes Obama look “cool” but hardly Presidential.
Also, older people vote more than young people. Older people will empathize with McCain.

Bush took the same grief about his flying TANG jets “over the Gulf of Mexico,” as if that were moron’s work. I’d love to see the people who attack them on their lack of technolgy expertise even start to fly one of these things.

Good point! I have a relative who was an A-4 pilot in the ‘60s (didn’t know McCain b/c he (my relative) was generally with the 6th Fleet in the Med). Anyway, his post- Navy career was in computer programming..... not merely using them but writing customized programs in several different languages. He still says carrier landings, especially at night, are the hardest thing he’s ever done. He has 500+ carrier landings.
I suppose then the Obamanation will have to say they’re not talking about skills or intelligence but about CURRENT technologies, etc. But of course they never complained about Bill Clinton being computer illiterate, which he was (don’t know about now, but when he was President it was said a number of times that he had never used email). These are the kinds of things that pop up from the Demagogues when they don’t have anything more useful to babble about.

I have seen quite a few talking heads refer to McCain’s record as a “fighter pilot.” Maybe some Skyhawk driver can help me out here, but did the Navy classify the Skyhawk a fighter, or a bomber? More a carrier attack aircraft, than a fighter, per se?
