John McCain is mocked as an out-of-touch, out-of-date computer illiterate in a television commercial out Friday from Barack Obama as the Democrat begins his sharpest barrage yet on McCain's long Washington career.

The new fighting spirit comes as McCain has been gaining in the polls and some Democrats have been expressing concern the Obama campaign has not been aggressive enough. Obama's campaign says the escalation will involve advertising and pushes made by the candidate, running mate Joe Biden and other surrogates across the country.
"Today is the first day of the rest of the campaign," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe says in a campaign strategy memo. "We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain's attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people."
The newest ad showcasing their hard line includes unflattering footage of McCain at a hearing in the early '80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubik's Cube.

Last I remember, you don’t need a computer to vote “Yes” or “No,” and you don’t need one to sign a document.
Oh well, Obama can’t speak without a teleprompter or speech writers.
I’m admittedly biased, but I thought the ad was weak.
This may appeal to his base but it will alienate a lot of other folks. Good job Zero!
If the McCain camp is smart, they will respond to this ad as a demonstration that Barack Obama has no idea how leadership works. Executives don’t need computer skills - that’s what underlings are for. If Obama thinks computers skills are essential to be president, then he doesn’t have a clue what actually IS essential to be president.
Maybe McCain will respond, “well, my friend, when I was in a Vietnamese prison cell, you see, we didn’t have computers, or even Ipods....”
“We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain’s attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people.”
Apparently disco balls are a big issue to Americans.

Last I checked, all it takes is a pen to VETO spending bills or to write “Bomb Iran Now”
Does this mean McCain does not know what OMG, LOL, or BAMF mean? Somehow that is comforting.
Obama is angry he can’t spam McCain begging for money because he knows that’s where all the donations have gone to.
What a great way to mock an entire generation of Americans who grew up before the computer age. I hope they play it non-stop in south FL.
Old people vote also mr. hussein.
I see he’s still running against Bush.
So, his campaign manager is a ploufter. It figures.

Now these numbers may be slightly higher than 8 yrs ago, but in my family there are only 4-5 of us out of 50 that use a computer.
The above microsoft study shows only 50% of Americans use a computer, and only 24% of over 60 Americans...so Obama may have just shot himself in the foot...Most Executives have a secretary, as well as Generals, and Politicians. Next he’ll be criticizing McCain for not text messaging..lol
Open honesty is always better than idol boasts. I wonder how many Obambi off-sided with his comment about being computer illiterate. This guy is going to one day put his foot so deep into his throat that no one will be able to pull it out.
I’ve got a feeling this ad is gonna backfire. It insults the intelligence of the younger crowd and just plain insults the older crowd.
AARP??? calling AARP
I only hear crickets chirping
bingo....
they also should add “are these the issues barak hussien thinks are important to the American people and wants to talk about?” mocking him in return....that and the fact the people of this country don’t want the President of the US glued to the computer....
Does he really think the American people care that McCain doesn't surf the Internet and type his own emails? What a freaking, out of touch retard!
