Hubris was indeed revealed in the ABC interview with Sarah Palin, and it wasn't coming from Sarah Palin, but Charlie Gibson. But there was more than Charlie's sneering condescending tone, looking down over the rim of his glasses like some snobby intellectual that bothered me. Twisting her words into a fabrication feeding the fear of theocracy was utterly insulting. It was especially insulting to claim that these were her "exact words" after being challenged on it. Watch this video excerpt from the interview to see the exchange.
Here is the transcript of the exchange:
GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?
PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.
GIBSON: Exact words.
PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln’s words when he said — first, he suggested never presume to know what God’s will is, and I would never presume to know God’s will or to speak God’s words.
But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that’s a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.
That’s what that comment was all about, Charlie.
GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln’s words, but you went on and said, “There is a plan and it is God’s plan.”
Actually, Charlie, that is totally untrue. Here is what she actually said:
“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”
Here is a tip for the future Charlie. Try not to rely on the AP for your "exact quotes". It makes you look like a total fool, especially after condescendingly insisting you are correct.

This overbearing gas bag carries a tire guage in his pocket [see PHOTO above]. The camera angle to make Sarah look tiny and Charlie look ginormous? The chairs are the SAME size and the two seated participants are ACTUALLY THE SAME HEIGHT. Charlie may think he is Charles Laughton in Witness for the Prosecution but he's more some cross of Jabba the Hutt and W.C. Fields. Advantage Palin.

LOL! I didn’t read a single positive comment for the interview other than by a few hacks.
Last night he proved me wrong. From the nature of the questions, to the editing to the camera angle at the seated interview it was obvious that this interview was a carefully planned ambush.
Yea, we knew it was coming but we also thought that maybe, just maybe we might finally be treated fairly.........not a chance!

The interview was pre-taped which allowed for all the awful editing as explained by "waus" at the #3 post.
ABC pulled the comments. Pretty much every last one of them was bashing ABC.
Excellent analysis because that's exactly how I was feeling when I watched what little of it that I did.......
It's because of something the left and the elite cannot understand and are blind to.
Sarah connects with everyday people. She was mother who wanted to make a difference in her community and joined the PTA and it went from there. She didn't need an ivy league degree in Political Science, she didn't need a law degree, she didn’t need rich connections, she just needed honesty, integrity, her faith, and a desire to serve.
She didn't seek wealth, power, or high position...it just happened and that connects with most Americans of all stripes (outside of the leftists and elitists whom she threatens) who in their hearts want to try and help their communities and improve things for their kids.

Yep. I saw that last night. But, they must have clipped a lot of the posts out, because at 12:00 noon (CST) yesterday there were 1,200 posts. But last night at about 9:00 there were about 900.
