Kim Jong-il Experiencing Intermittent Irregular Seizure from Stroke
Chinese Intelligence, "Will have long-term effect on his rule"
Park Seung-joon, Beijing
N. Korean leader Kim Jong-il, who is said to be recovering from stroke, is experiencing intermittent and irregular seizure, which is why he could not attend the 60th anniversary celebration of N. Korean state's founding on Sept. 9, a reliable diplomatic source on N. Korea in Beijing said on Sept. 11.
The source said that a senior Chinese official visited Pyongyang a few days before the anniversary and did meet Kim Jong-il, and he reported (his findings) back to Chinese government. That is how this intelligence was obtained. Chinese government was thus made aware that Kim has little problem in his language command and ability to think. Still, they expected that intermittent but persistent seizure would prevent him from attending the celebration.
Chinese predict that Kim's physical strength would drop markedly and it would have long-term effect on his ability to rule since he should not be exposed to stress and have difficulty in getting around due to the seizure
On another development, S. Korean legislator Lee Chul-woo, a member of (S. Korean) ruling party, commented on Sept. 11, "It is safe to say that Kim Jong-il could stand up when assisted by others and is having a speedy recovery. "

It has been revealed, after the news on Kim Jong-il' health broke, that intelligence officials have known since last year that Kim Jong-il's health was deteriorating and his workload was scaled down. Documents requiring No. 1 approval, that is, ones needed to be signed by Kim Jong-il himself, were reduced in volume.
Interest in N. Korean regime's collapse suddenly picked up since the beginning of this year for no apparent reason(at least in public.) In retrospect, it appears that N. Korea experts have known Kim's health deterioration and made them revisit this issue.

Well, in the previous report on his third son, they said that the son's accident is the reason why Kim Jong-il had stroke in the first place.
It will remain to be seen how accurate the story is.

Is it remotely possible that some general could take over the government while Kim is still alive?

While Kim Jong-il was struggling with stroke, the anniversary celebration went on, though rescheduled and scaled down. The parade was made up of female regular troops and militia force, Worker-Peasant Red Militia. The rest of regular troops with heavy weaponery for display were turned back to the staging area. They did not join the parade:

We will be happy to send a qualified replacement for Dear Leader..... namely, Awec Bawldwin of F-A-G
I am confident that Awec Bawldwin can take over in a smooth transition, and if one F-A-G leader is not enough we will be more than happy to send Matt Damon and all the rest of those clowns. World Peace may not be far off, if only we can have Baldwin, Clooney, Damon, Sean Penn, Streisand, and all their pals living in Pyongyang.

There is no stroke, there is no convulsion or seizure. All is well in Pyongyang. Tomorrow Kim Jong-il' will be running 50 miles after swimming 200 miles and cycling 500 miles. He is healthier than ever and his health is always improving. He is advising his doctors how they can be healthier. There is no problem never.
