I honestly believe that the oil refineries should ration gasoline to California... to the extent that California refineries fall short of the amount used daily by Calidiots...

What could be fairer than that?

Let the fruits and nuts run their gaymobiles on windmills and solar power...

When some type of offshore drilling is allowed post 9/30, the response to the first state to hit a major find, say Georgia which will reap $billions in tax revenues, will be to plead , “drill here now.” State legislators haven’t any principles and only know one thing: Bring me the money.

Most give whores a bad name.

Since Kalifornia has Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein talking all over the place with what position they are taking at one minute or another, the Dimorats in Sacramento will follow.
This may be Tom McClintock’s big chance.
Run against ARNOLD the RINO on the platform or , well, an OIL platform. (what a clever use of words)

The state needs a house cleaning, and it has to get the cities on board or they will be begging Chavez for oil to have gasoline within 2 years. IMO.

Above all, don’t ship a single barrel or crude or refined oil products to Kalifornia. Let them stew in their own juices.

If we had a governor with some Palin-sized cojones we could be drilling right now, and sending rebate checks to every taxpayer in the state.

But we don’t and we won’t. That’s what you get for re-electing the same socialist grafters to the legislature time after time, Californios.

Drill Nancy's head.

I know it's not oil, but maybe we could make a methane processor like in that Mel G movie Thunderdome.

“Let the mental midgets in the Californian assembly tell the people they will be purchsing oil from Chavez and they will be paying 7 or 8 dollars a gallon”

Better yet, tell those same mental midgets that if they won’t allow drilling, they simply can’t have any oil, no matter what the price. You don’t want to contribute, take a hike.

This is why I advocate taking the power to regulate oil drilling more than 25 miles away from the states. You cannot allow our national security to be destroyed by a bunch of +60 year old 60’s hippies who think that a tree has more rights than an unborn child.

At some point in the not too distant future the liberal stew in California will make the people of the state sufficiently ill that they will throw the commi’s out.

Okay. Fair enough. No oil from new offshore wells to be provided to California refineries. Any products shipped to California will have a 60% excise tax applied to reduce the national debt.

But couldn’t we Californians put it in a referendum or something? I bet offshore oil drilling, with reasonable safeguards, would pass.

He’s a global-warming person. He’s pro-drilling as long as the committee is in full agreement.

“The California Assembly has taken a firm stand against the drilling, saying that the move would protect the state’s beaches.”

Total idiots that have no knowledge of history in California.

If the current off shore wells hadn’t been drilled there wouldn’t be a beach in southern California that you could go on without getting covered with tar.

“How far offshore do states control anyway?”

I don’ know. Not sure that there are any specific laws or rules about any amount controlled by states. I think it’s just that moratoriums and bans on offshore drilling were put in place by legislation and executive orders starting in the 1980s until all but four Gulf of Mexico states were off limits.

This talk of allowing states some jurisdiction might just proposals and possible negotiating positions for the present debate. But the reality now is that every square inch of offshore territory is off limits for new drilling except for Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

But I don’t know for sure about any state jurisdiction.

I think the feds should shove this right up the *ss of the California commies in our legislature. This state's state government is out of control. John and Sarah could do it.

nObama would cave in like the suck up to the lefties he always has been.

“He’s a global-warming person. He’s pro-drilling as long as the committee is in full agreement.”

Yep, and he’s taking a mighty timid and unaggressive position on an issue that, what was it, around 70% of the people think we should drill, drill, drill?

Then there’s state’s officials like mine here ( in California) who think any money taken from sources other than wage earners or businesses is dirty money.

They take take take, then take some more.

This is crying out for a ballot initiative. The California legislature does whatever it wants. This is the only way to put any brakes on them. Having said that, it would probably be overturned by the courts.

They take take take, then take some more.

It doesn't matter anyway, becase JUST LIKE WITH THE BORDER FENCE, the pubbie leadership says one thing and does another.

Just like they PRAISED Duncan Hunter and publicly promised to bow to the will of the people, then had Kay Bailey Hutchison tear the teeth out of his bill's funding, so they move again against the overwhelming will of America's people:

Here's McCain's happy little elf and his "Gang of 10" doing the McCain Senate Squat all over the righteous work of the good Conservatives in the House, while his boss is out on the stump yelling "Drill! Drill! Drill!"

RushLimbaugh.com: "Gang of 10 Sells Out House GOP; Stupid Senators Give Gift to Obama"

Republicans are killing this issue.
