We are headed down a path to nationalization and socialism.
***Must be nice when you can print your own money...***
I wish more people understood the consequences of increasing the money supply. The government can always print more money, but it will only devalue everyone else’s dollars and thus decrease their buying power, like a hidden tax.

Wow!
I can now see the day where the word “risk” is removed from the dictionary.

"This is very, very important to an important industry in our country," Pelosi said Tuesday. "It's about jobs, jobs, jobs."It would be nice to find out whether she has some of her fortune invested in that "important industry".

Nancy Pelosi announces her support for automaker loans
Sure, as long as they pay me back.
(I'll send them a coupon book.)

Airlines, autos, mortgage bankers.
Almost makes me want to support a government takeover of the oil industry.
At least my tax dollars would be going to support something with a successful business model.

2008 seems to be the year of the bailout.
Guess everyone wants all the money back they gave to Washington DC.

The thinking here is to keep these companies afloat in case of war. They can be used to provide wartime vehicles and armament. If they go out of business it would be much harder to get on a wartime footing. If it is indeed a loan that will be paid back then you have to look at it as an investment in national security. I'm sure this is their rational. Plus look at all the lost tax revenue if they go belly up.

Pelosi’s bridge loan to nowhere.

I guess the Michigan numbers don’t look so good for Barack, so Pelosi is trying to buy him some votes before November.

Nazi Pelosi and Harry Reid are trying to buy Michigan for Obama.
And they are using our money to do it!

Why are Chevy, Ford, and Chrysler the only manufacturers whining? Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and BMW also make cars here.

Automaker loan?
That's a subsidy, never to be returned.
What automobile industry?
If foreign automakers would have opened shop in Canada or Mexico, there no longer would be an automobile industry in this country.
Where are sacrifices by the workforce to save their jobs?
Employees of foreign, non union plants in the south of this country, make $25 per hour less, work more productive and efficient and keep their jobs.
Why taxpayer subsidies to overpaid union workers with royal benefits, cumbersome work rules, and inefficient operations?
Come up with cost reductions first, then apply for a “loan.”
We all remember this recent brutal strike against American Axle that cost GM $38 billions and now they come and ask the taxpayer to pony up.

Want to help the auto industry? Dump the mileage standards. Folks can merely ask for the mpg they want in the showroom.
