(Obama) warned voters they'd be hearing clever words and expressions but were really well-disguised smears.........the Democrat was referring to coded attacks aimed at him - not by him....... He claims his "lipstick on a pig" slur of Gov. Sarah Palin was "an innocent remark." As, presumably, was the remark: "You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called 'change' [and] it's still gonna stink." Democrats pointedly noting John McCain is 72 years old is an eerie coincidence, right? All of which makes Obama's feigned outrage - portraying himself as the victim of a "Swift Boat" attack - a tad hypocritical.

Every since Palin uttered the word lipstick, she owns that word. Every time anyone sees or hears lipstick during this campaign they automatically think of Palin. And Obama knows this too.

But in insisting that the lipstick comment made no reference to Palin, Obama is actually saying he is the only person in America that was too stupid to know that Palin owns lipstick.

Someone should make up some McCain/Palin bumper stickers with Palin's name written in lipstick.

I watched Hardball yesterday, and with clever edit jobs, they edited out the "rotten fish" reference.

Rush said yesterday that the reference referred to McCain because the left have for months now, had McCain and Bush attached to the hip, as if McCain has been Bush's VP.

Disagree. Rush Limbaugh’s scenario is more reasonable. The “8 year old stinking fish” reference is just another way of saying if you vote for McCain in November, you’re giving George W. Bush a third term.
