Two segments on Tuesdays Election Center program, which were promoted by host Campbell Brown as having no bias, no bull, actually tried to paint Republican vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin as having a "very extreme" and "outside-the-mainstream" viewpoint on environmental issues, since on the issue of global warming, shes "not one... who would attribute it to being man-made." Brown herself suggested during the second segment that the debate over the cause of global warming was already over.
Correspondent Randi Kaye interviewed University of Alaska professor Rick Steiner during the first segment, a report on Palins environmental record. She asked, " In a word, if you can sum up Sarah Palin's record on the environment here, what would it be?" Steiner answered, "Abysmal." Anderson Coopers blog on CNN.com republished the professors September 7 editorial from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, in which he railed against Governor Palin: "In addition to her frightening lack of qualification to be vice president (much less president) of the United States, Palin is an evangelical, anti-choice, pro-gun, right-wing conservative who wants creationism taught in schools." When a shorter version of her report aired on Wednesdays The Situation Room, Kaye added that Steiner "says hes not a Republican or a Democrat." Despite this clarification, it is clear from his editorial that Steiner is a liberal.

Is Campbell Brown the girlfriend of that Rachel Madcow?????
So basically Matthew Balan is an Obama supporter. Gee, I see no bias in that article at. None whatsoever......
Re: Outside the Mainstream
That is family has cashed in.
Steiner made a contribution to the Democrat candidate for Alaska’s house seat this February:
In addition, he’s the head of some whack left wing NGO called “The Coastal Coalition”...
Scientific truth is not decided by “mainstream” thinkers, who are almost always wrong. Consider the “mainstream” opinion in Galileo’s time.
We know what "mainstream" is to CNN -- its prevailling liberal dogma.
While CNN is right in the lead of the “weak-stream-media”
DNCNN is Out of the Mainstream.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
“Outside the mainstream” is a phrase I can’t remember being used by anyone but leftists. I recollect Boxer, Hillary, and Kennedy making use of it during some judicial confirmation or another. It’s a stock liberal phrase used in reference to anyone they feel threatened by, as I recall. If I think about it long enough, I’m sure I’ll remember specifically the other times I’ve heard it, but the only thing I’m sure that “outside the mainstream” means is that liberals don’t like it. Which means that I probably do.
The audacity - why that sounds like CHANGE!!!
Now if only Sarah can convince Juan McGore to stop listening to Silly Senator Graham, his favorite lap-dog, to rejoin the sane thinkers in both this Global Warming AND the amnesty for illegals issues... Then she’ll be a real heroin!!!
Yes, it is out of the main stream. Because the main stream is brain washed by eco terrorists! Thank God she’s out of the main stream. That’s why we love her!
Perhaps the debate is not over yet:
Thousands of letters flooded in after Canadian climatologist Dr. Timothy Ball’s column was posted on the Drudge Report. The letters were overwhelmingly in support of Ball’s contention that global warming is not man made.
In his column, Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts? Dr. Ball wrote, “Global warming, as we think we know it, doesn’t exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was one of the first Canadian PhDs in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition.
“Believe it or not, Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide (C02). This in fact is the greatest deception in the history of science. We are wasting time, energy and trillions of dollars while creating unnecessary fear and consternation over an issue with no scientific justification. For example, Environment Canada brags about spending $3.7 billion in the last five years dealing with climate change almost all on propaganda trying to defend an indefensible scientific position whole at the same time closing weather stations and failing to meet legislated pollution targets.”

Please write Anderson Coopers and tell him what we know about his misrepresentation of Steiner.
So how is being an outlayer on mainstream issues a bad thing?
