[According to her Democratic Party profile, Elizabeth Berry lives in Garland, Texas. Curiously, though, there is a Wikipedia entry, on an artist named William D. Berry, who was married to a "Liz", or "Elizabeth", and who lived in Fairbanks, Alaska.]
#2) Bill Kristol, of The Weekly Standard, first noted that Sarah Palin refers to herself as a "Pitbull", with "Lipstick", on Tuesday, September 2, 2008:

One was particularly amused by this exchange: A nervous young McCain staffer took it upon himself to explain to Palin the facts of life in a national campaign, the intense scrutiny she'd be under from the media, the viciousness of the assault that she'd be facing, etc.: Palin: "Thanks for the warning. By the way, do you know what they say the difference is between a hockey mom and a Pit Bull?" McCain aide: "No, Governor." Palin: "A hockey mom wears lipstick."

#5) Early on the morning of Thursday, September 4, 2008, we learn that Sarah Palin's teleprompter was broken, and that she had to ad-lib her speech:

So he rolled over the first two lines of the next paragraph after applause. But she was unfazed by it.

#9) On Tuesday, September 9, 2008, Ben Smith had to file two separate "lipstick" stories, three hours apart, about how Team Obama was using the "Lipstick on a Pig" template:

#11) Finally, in his Swinegate remarks, Obama botched the delivery of the plagiarism of Toles's joke, and he had to go back and correct himself to get the joke to work properly, before finally pausing to deliver the "Lipstick on a Pig" kicker, which he also botched, in a most telling fashion:

YOUTUBE VIDEO: Obama Smears McCain-Palin As Lipstick On A Pig
Let let let's just list this for a second.
John McCain says he's about change too. Exce- and and so I guess his whole angle is - watch out, George Bush - except for economic policy, healthcare policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy, and Karl-Rove-style politics, we're really gonna shake things up in Washington.
That's not change.
That's that's just callin' sumpin' the same thing somethin' different.
But you know, you can't, you know, you you can put, ah, lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.
WATCH OUT, MR. BUSH!
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ECONOMIC POLICY AND ENERGY POLICY AND SOCIAL ISSUES AND TAX POLICY AND FOREIGN POLICY AND SUPREME COURT APPOINTMENTS AND ROVE-STYLE POLITICS,
WE'RE COMING IN THERE TO SHAKE THINGS UP.
The key to understanding the Tom Toles plagiarism & the pre-scripting of the "Lipstick on a Pig" kicker is to watch how Obama botches the delivery of each template.
First, he's trying to remember how the Toles joke goes, but he's just a little too eager to blurt it out, and he jumps in with the "Excep-" part, but then he remembers that he forgot the "watch out, George Bush" preamble, so he has to backtrack quickly to cover up his blunder so as to get the Toles plagiarism right.
But then he's so eager to dive into the "Lipstick on a Pig" kicker that he botches that line as well - he starts to say:
You CAN'T put lipstick on a pig...
At that point, his left hand is in his pants pocket, but then he realizes that he's bungled this template as well, so he pulls his left hand out of his pants pocket, and brings it up to his forehead, scrambling furiously to try to remember how the joke works [he's screaming at himself: "What did they tell me to say? How does the setup lead to the punchline?"], and he pulls himself back together and remembers that they want him to say that:
You CAN put lipstick on a pig...
And so finally, after these two blunders, Obama finishes out the Toles plagiarism with the pre-scripted "Lipstick on a Pig" kicker.
Perhaps, but sometimes watching a building implode in slow motion will allow one to see aspects of the structure which were not visible before, and won't be visible after.
His comments on Heller included that he believed that Stevens had the better of the argument. I don't think he's too happy with her conservatism/populism. Just a guess.
Charles has had really negative things to say about McCain and CO. for several weeks now...and he was not at all pleased about Sarah's VP selection.
I don't know what has been up with him lately, he used to be the one that we could count on for his insightful intellect and his voice of reason.
There is no building, there is not implosion, there's not even a demolition any time in the near future. Anyone with any degree of civilized intellect has that intellect absolutely insulted at the depth of absurdity the McCain campaign is sinking to with this lipstick "incident" that's not.
I'm starting to get real nervous when Obama says that the McCain campaign wasted another day not talking about the issues, that it's starting to seem true. It's starting to seem like the McCain campaign is trying to run out the clock with 45 minutes left and a 2 point lead. Enough of this BS.
And he was on the TV, and I trust the TV to tell me what to say (er, do) and that's the truth and I am a good little democrat and I will do what the TV news says to do because Walter was so good and honest and trustworthy and then they got that new Dan Rather guy and he was good and nice .....
When you watch the video, it certainly appears that feckless Bambi is trying to work in this line he was given to diminsih Palin for his sycophantic fools audience. The line was premeditated and he even went so far as to work in the other line he was programmed to give, that McCain is an old stinky fish.
No, I disagree.
Obama opened his mouth, and McCain came right back and jammed HIS foot right back in it.
Keeps the Obama campaign (and their non-ab-libbing, can’t talk without a speech and a teleprompter off-balance, responding to the fighter pilot, and behind the pitch.
Makes Obama look stupid (well, even more stupid than he actually is) and prevents Obama from looking reasonable when/if they try to come up with their “October surprise.”
We know the issues - most repubbie voters know the issues. WHAT THE MEDIA IS SPREADING ARE VICIOUS LIES (about Palin). So those lies, those insults need to get rebuffed immediately. THAT is the most important “issue” - Is Sarah good enough to become McCain’s VP? She can sell herself - if the media is put on the defensive responding (defending) Obama’s mistakes and insults.
