Paul Rejects Gramm's Pro-McCain Pitch

Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Wednesday that former Sen. Phil Gramm, R-Texas, called him on Tuesday urging him to endorse John McCain, sparking charges from Democrats that the former McCain adviser is still active on behalf of the Republican presidential nominee.

"I got a phone call yesterday and it was a bit of a surprise to me because their request was that I endorse John McCain. The argument was, 'he would do a little less harm than the other candidate,'" said Paul.

I didn’t know Paul quit Congress because of alcoholism. That may not be true.

Ummm, that shows up on a total of ONE crappy blog on the entire Internet. Jesus Christ. I would think you'd be more intellectually honest than that.

And you should have also mentioned that the source of that is a site where users rate the looks of celebrities and politicians. You may as well have quoted the Weekly World News.

Elections are not a sporting event where you go out and support you local team regardless of who the players are. Elections should be about ideas. Should he support someone that he fundamentally disagrees with on specific issues just because he is playing for the Elephants?

Nobody is asking him to support anyone.

He shouldn’t screw over the country by playing third-party spoiler just because he got his butt kicked.

I also at one time “swore” that I would never support McCain....
