John McCains selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate has made a huge difference in her home state.
McCain now leads his Democratic opponent nearly two-to one, 64% to 33%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state. It is the first poll taken since Palin, who is extremely popular in Alaska, joined the GOP national ticket (crosstabs available for Premium Members).

The wholesome, decent, truthful, puissant Sarah Palin has served as a catalyst to cause the Democrats to reveal just how ugly and depraved they are. Truth is the Democrats' worst enemy.
Alaska- 3 electoral votes.
A lot of the initial attacks on Palin were over the top. I think any future smears will fall on deaf ears. The McCain camp can just say there goes the Far Left again.
Mac and Palin show the world that they are true agents of change by throwing Ted Stevens and Don Young under the bus. Yeah, it stinks to lose another Senate seat, but Ted Stevens and Don Young are toxic to the GOP brand.
