John McCains selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate has made a huge difference in her home state.
McCain now leads his Democratic opponent nearly two-to one, 64% to 33%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state. It is the first poll taken since Palin, who is extremely popular in Alaska, joined the GOP national ticket (crosstabs available for Premium Members).

The only thing he will be taking is a beating. lol
Sarah Palin may be the greatest thing to happen to American politics since ...well...ever.
do we keep this Senate seat? If so, can we get Stevens to resign, given that he is a disgrace?
If the number of Palin hit pieces is any indication, then it sure appears that the media has talked with every one of that 33%...some of them twice.

I haven’t had this much fun since....well, it’s been a LONG time.
And Idaho will be BIG. Remember Sarah was born there and attended college.
Maybe we can Torricelli him and just proclaim someone else is running for Senate in his stead even though he won the primary.
totally different then when Edwards joined the Kerry ticket....Edwards didn’t even win his home state for Kerry.
That’s nice, but until Alaska gets more electorates, it won’t add up to much.
Huge bounce for MP in New Mexico as well.
Does the 33% include journalists who are in Alaska “investigating” Sarah Palin’s record?
i just checked over at RCP
why is my home state of NH 6 points for Obama? i was hoping for some McCain coattails to bring Sununu and Bradley over with him
Wait until they get a load of this:

They may approach 90%!
CNN/Time just released a registered voters poll in NH: O51, M45. FWIW...
Mac hasn’t campaigned there in a while. He’s going back soon.
i moved up to NH to get away from the libs
they apparently followed me
i really really hope we can take the state back this election (i know it only has 4 electoral votes but it is the principle of the thing)
It’s close - but I am hopeful about NH. They love the original maverick up there.
