John McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate has made a huge difference in her home state.

McCain now leads his Democratic opponent nearly two-to one, 64% to 33%, according to a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of voters in the state. It is the first poll taken since Palin, who is extremely popular in Alaska, joined the GOP national ticket (crosstabs available for Premium Members).

It was never gonna happen. That landslide figure is the highest of any state... my guess is Utah would come in a close second!

do we keep this Senate seat? If so, can we get Stevens to resign, given that he is a disgrace?

If the number of Palin hit pieces is any indication, then it sure appears that the media has talked with every one of that 33%...some of them twice.

“John McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate has made a huge difference in her home state.

I haven’t had this much fun since....well, it’s been a LONG time.

And Idaho will be BIG. Remember Sarah was born there and attended college.

Maybe we can Torricelli him and just proclaim someone else is running for Senate in his stead even though he won the primary.

That’s nice, but until Alaska gets more electorates, it won’t add up to much.

Does the 33% include journalists who are in Alaska “investigating” Sarah Palin’s record?

The McCain List.

Two GOP states line up solidly behind McCain after a period of Obama-wooing.

As you can imagine, Governor Palin helps a lot - especially in Alaska! She has an approval rating of 72%, with McCain at 71%.

Alaska
McCain 64%
Obama 33%

North Dakota
McCain 55%
Obama 41%

CNN/Time just released a registered voters poll in NH: O51, M45. FWIW...

Mac hasn’t campaigned there in a while. He’s going back soon.
