TORONTO, September 10, 2008 (LIfeSiteNews.com) - U.S. vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin's loving and highly-publicized acceptance of her Down's syndrome child Trig has some Canadian doctors worried that her example may lead to mothers shunning abortion after diagnosis of Down's syndrome.
Dr. Andre Lalonde, executive vice-president of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC), told the Globe and Mail yesterday, "Palin's decision to keep her baby, knowing he would be born with the condition, may inadvertently influence other women who may lack the necessary emotional and financial support to do the same."
"The worry is that this will have an implication for abortion issues in Canada," he said.
Under the facade of "freedom to choose", Lalonde said that "popular messages" about women like Palin, who chose not to kill their children "could have detrimental effects on women and their families."
"We offer the woman the choice. We try to be as unbiased as possible," Lalonde said. "We're coming down to a moral decision and we all know moral decisions are personal decisions."

The horror.
Thanks Squawk.
Liberals, especially in Canananada, couldn't care less about detrimental effects on women--they just want to kill babies. Who do they think they are kidding?
The Left is trying very hard to push the utilitarian valuation of human life. That is why they abhor Sarah Palin’s decision to love and cherish Trig. That is why they push Embryonic Stem Cell Research. That is why the support government rationing of medical care.
In other words, Canada’s healtcare system doesn’t want you to have these babies so might have to force you if you don’t willingly.
My brother-in-law was told his daughter would be born with Down Syndrome but upon her birth she was perfectly healthy.
We were told the opposite and our son was born with Down Syndrome. My brother-in-law and his wife were not going to abort. Imagine if they had and found out they killed a perfect little girl.
We also would of had our son no matter what his condition but others are not as lucky and are told incorrect information.
I hope these people rot in hell.
I’m not going to waste the bandwidth on the doofus. Any opinion that differs from his will be discarded as casually as he would discard a human life during an abortion.
I’ll simply record his name as one of those who call themselves “Doctor”, but disgrace the entire medical profession and dishonor the oath they took. I wouldn’t trust him or his ilk with the care of anything.
I will copy this pious little article, however.
I think I’ll make a few hundred copies, fold ‘em all twice and stick ‘em up the nose of anyone suggesting that the US needs this kind of crap excuse for medicine. Or doctors.

So these “doctors” wish that Trig Palin was dead? I know that leftists are sick, but why are they attacking that sweet baby?
Is it safe?
AND
"We offer the woman the choice. We try to be as unbiased as possible," Lalonde said.
These two statements Just Don't Jibe. Whenever a person takes a guilt-ridden position their positions usually don't.
It amazes me that people who claim they’re all about choice are “worried” that some babies might escape their knives.
Being handicapped does not make a person "not human."
Not surprising, abortion is the only solution to their downward spiraling healthcare crisis.........no people, no medical crisis, no problem.
Cuts into their profits, I suppose.
