Strategic Vision will be releasing a survey of Pennsylvania tomorrow (Sept. 5-7, MoE +/-3.0%) showing Obama leading McCain by two points, 47-45, with 3% supporting other candidates and 5% undecided. That's a 7 point drop for Obama from SV's last poll taken in late July showing Obama ahead 49-40.

I agree...and once again, the lack of Hillary on the ticket hurts the dems (yes!!!) here in PA alot. Hillary kicked Barry's butt in the primary here...she won by 9+ percent...she would have been valuable here, now. But...on the upside...we have our 'third Senator?!?!?!?' on the ticket. I have seen that in a number of articles and I can honestly say I never heard Biden linked to PA prior.

McCain will take PA.

Yea, PA’s third Senator.. what a crock I bet you went to any other NE state they’d be saying the same thing about him, I wonder who faxed em that talking point??

Been here since 1986, and I’ve never ever heard Biden’s name mentioned by ANYONE in terms of being a fighter and friend for PA... What crap.

Hillary spanked fauxbama here, and had the dems put up someone reasonable this would be a close election and the dems likely would have taken PA, and the White House... however they chose a cult of personality in an empty suit, and are going to have their butts handed to them

Fauxbama will lose PA, not by as large of a margin as the national election, but he’ll lose.

Down by only 47%-45% in PA (in a weekend poll) is pretty good news for McCain/Palin. Obama’s selection of Biden probably didn’t help him as much as he thought with working-class whites, and McCain’s selection of Palin is probably helping McCain among that very constituency (and among married women and working women).

Ceteris paribus, I would place the odds of McCain/Palin carrying both MI and PA on November 4 at above 50%; if he carries those two states, he will definitely carry OH as well (the last time PA voted more Republican than OH was in 1948), and it would be impossible for Obama to get to 270.

Pennsylvania Freepers will be happy to hear this. Maybe John McCain and Sarah Palin will campaign for Louis Barletta while they’re at it.

Michigan is a possibility for Mac / Palin. The Mac camp needs to run against not only Obama, but against Graholm and the disgraced Detroit Mayor. One reason why Bush failed to make inroads in MI and PA was the so-called “Bob Casey” Dems saw the Bush family as a bunch of rich boys. Blue collar folks who share socially conservative views hate Rich Republicans more than abortion doctors. Class warfare works with them. But since Mac is a POW, these Casey Dems may cut him some sack since he fought for America.
