Mark Steyn on Obama's "Piggate" bumble this morning. He's no longer the iconic cool guy we met back in the snows of Iowa. There's no there there!

Empty suits eventually collapse under the weight of gravity, there is nothing holding them up but momentum and energy, once that is gone...pffft...to the floor..
And Steyn is right, Lib elites do sneer at anyone they consider of lower class, their problem is they do such a poor job of concealing that contempt.

I agree with Mark K that Governor Palin, who kills elk for breakfast, shouldn't be seen to complain Obama-like about how beastly and mean her opponents are...................... That's what Sarah should do: Put on a happy face.I agree
And the rest of us should pile on Obama, which is exactly what is happening.
The campaign should stay out of this fight.

It would be interesting to compare the number of WOMEN writers/blogger/etc who hate Palin to the number of MEN.
I think there’s at least an element of female envy at work here.
Don’t need to watch Lindsay Lohan to know there are “Bad Girls” in the world, and that they have claws.

That's the open line of the famous poem by the 15th Century French poet Francois Villon. Its about the fleeting nature of the world. And in keeping with that, Obama has taken a fall from the heights of tremendous popularity and he still shows no humility. That's his flaw.

Yup - here is what they wanted (from a liberal medium - AOL):
“GOP squealing at OB’s ‘lipstick on a pig’ comment”.
You want to mess in the gutter?
Can we assume Obama is going to use this kind of diplomacy with the people and government of our nation? With other nations?
He’s isn’t the prince charming he pretends to be. Never was.

This comment is about what a small, petty man Barry Obama is, and that is really why it is such an uproar!

LOL.
I meant to say: photoshopping of the shape of his mouth.
It’s still a bit early for me, I think. :)

I first encountered the saying in the novel "Catch-22". The hero (Yossarian) loses a crewmember (Snowden) in a bombing raid over Germany in WWII. He's haunted by the event and periodically repeats the french phrase, but translates it as "Where are the Snowdens of yesteryear?"
Of course, it's been 30 years since I read the book, so I may have some details wrong.

I knew Obama was Presidential material when I read this a few years ago:
Obama is very sensitive about his press. After his press conference (Oct 2006), he headed toward New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd and chided her - in a kidding way - for a comment in the 12th of 14 paragraphs in an Oct. 21 column. She wrote that Obama’s “ears stick out.”
“I just want to put you on notice,” he said.
“I was teased relentlessly when I was a kid about my big ears.”
