She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

Not sure that's a reason considering all the asshats in Washington that are entrusted with our national security and shouldn't be.

Where is the authority to support this information? It’s my understanding that state governors are not responsible for opeations involving missile interceptors. I’m a Palin supporter, but I’m not comfortable citing credentials for which I have no proof.

“She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.”

The inference is that the other guys are not to be trusted or entrusted with national security because they haven’t keep secrets.

To make a good argument, you’ve gotta come up with better logic and evidence that that.

That's something that always irritated me.

You have some Joe in intel community or DoD, restricted where he can travel, wasn't a drugy, manages his finances, never a member of an organization that advocated the violent over throw of our government........

But..... in our government we have people that snort cocaine, have multiple DUIs, womanize and whore around, smoke dope, commit perjury/fraternize/adultery, alcholics that do hit and runs that involves a death, take bribes, kickbacks, travel to known enemy nations and make statement used by our enemy against us, and best yet, **leak classified material to the media with the intent to damage their political opponent and advance theirs in omplete disregaurd to the safe keeping of information**...... doesn't it seem a little strange? Maybe I'm being to demanding here?

These people are elected representatives and I understand that it should not be expected that they all have a compartmental TS with a polygraph. But there should be at least some “minimal” requirement set for those who deal with classified material. You have staffers who are neither elected nor cleared runing around with classified material. You have people who would be rejected for the lowest clearence levels because of the security threat they pose with access to the highest levels of classified materials...... The biggest human intel theat we have isn't private Joe Snuffy working on crypto intel equipment, but those who are the leaders of this nation. -IMHO

As part of my clearance for training in a highly-classified USAF AFSC, I passed a Final Top Secret investigation by the 4th District OSI. They were extremely thorough; the investigators even uncovered (and got a laugh out of) the fact that my high school buddies and I often called each other "Comrade Idiot" when one of us did something dumb...

With all his subversive associations, there is no way Obama could ever pass a FTS background investigation.

I advocate a law that requires all candidates for high office (Congress, President, VP, etc.) to pass a Final Top Secret background investigation before their name is placed on the ballot.

(Of course, the same applies to any of their appointees who may have access to classified materials...)

Keep in mind that there have been Russian incursioons into Alaskan airspace in the last 6 months.

Sarah Palin's Security Clearance-Truth!

A local Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) public affairs representative in Los Angeles told TruthorFiction.com that elected government officials go through a security screening process but could not go into details as to the level of investigation or the security level given to any one official in particular. We have asked both the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for further information on the level of security for governors.

Welcome to the Office of Homeland Security Website -Alaska

As an example, the Governor's Homeland Security Task Force has merged with the federal Anti-Terrorism Task Force to form the Anti-Terrorism Advisory Council with a broad spectrum of members from Federal, State, and local agencies as well as members of business and industry. While we're moving forward in many areas, we simply cannot do it without the help of all Alaskans

Fighter,

I posed a thread last week that ask this question and Vetting Overlap.

Many "MilSpec" Freepers responded with tons of Info.

What is your source on this?

Thanx Taildragger.....

The bottom line I am personally convinced she is more trust worthy and a known commodity than many in the the House and Senate who can't keep their mouths shut.....

and there’s another point... how could anyone be in line for the Presidency, yet could not even get a basic secret clearance? obama’s connections with aimes would nullify any possibility of a clearance... yet he should be allowed in line for the top slot??

Title:

Commanding Alaska’s Guard w/ 24/7 missile defense
Posted By Uncle Jimbo

One area of Sarah Palin’s background that may help her is Alaska’s unique role in our national security and homeland defense. Several folks have have mentioned this but Tom W. was specific and his info jibes with the record.

****

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.

She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.

Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.

According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.

She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. Itʼs on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.

Which means that it falls under the authority of the president and not the governor.

As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.

Doubtful. Obama is on the Foreign Affairs and Homeland Security committees and as a senator he has access to any and all classified material he needs for him to do his job, and no more. Likewise, Palin is prvy only to classified military, security, and counterterrorism information that she needs to do her job as governor of Alaska and no more. A top secret clearance doesn't mean you have access to all top secret information. There is no doubt some information she gets that Obama and Biden don't, and there is information that they get that Palin doesn't need to know.

Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.

Doubtful. As governor she has no part in international relations. That's what the State Department is for.
