I hear people sayin'. We Don't need this war.
I say there's some things worth fightin' for.
What about our freedom, and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backin' down.
They say we don't realize the mess we're gettin' in
Before you start preachin' let me ask you this my friend.
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire And her people blown away
Have you forgotten, when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside goin through a livin hell
And you say we shouldn't worry bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
You took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbin for you and me
It'll just breed anger is what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it everyday
Some say this country just out lookin' for a fight
Well after 9/11 man I'd have to say you're right.
Have you forgotten, how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell
We had neighbors still inside goin' through a livin' hell
And we vow to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
you can bet they remember just what they're fightin' for
Have you forgotten
All the people killed
Yes some went down like heroes
In that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten
About our Pentagon
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?!

I was just thinking about the risk of an anniversary attack.
Good Lord, I hope not.

Was that the documentary on History Channel. I meant to watch that but forgot when it was on. Guess we all get choked up when this horrible Anniversary comes up, I know I do.

Thanks. We all seem to forget.
Might I also remind folks to drag your cameras around tomorrow. You never know when a spontaneous moment might occur that we’d all appreciate in sharing.

I thought it was National Geographic Channel, but it might have been History.
The terrorists planning was painstaking, precise and yet, while viewing this, (in hindsight) one can see there were red flags that almost, but not quite, got connected.

That next to last pic of Uncle Sam hugging the Statue of Liberty as he rolls up his sleeves is fantastic. I’ve never seen it before.
Thanks for the thread.

I wrote this 9/11/03. I watched the second plane hit from Jersey and couldn't do a damn thing to help.
Holes in the Air
It was a morning like any other
The day started out most fair
Four planes full of friends fell out of the sky
Now were living with holes in the air.
Twas just before nine, Eastern Daylight Time
I sat in my office chair.
Come quick, someone said, The towers on fire.
Now were living with holes in the air.
Helpless we stood and unknowing we watched
Smoke rising into the air.
Just what happened? I heard it was a plane.
Now were living with holes in the air.
The second plane hit, a fresh burst of fire
And all we could do was stare
Can we help? Its too far. What can we do?
Now were living with holes in the air.
Then came the word, the Pentagons been hit.
Its really too much to bear.
Were under attack, no way to strike back.
Now were living with holes in the air.
Heroes rushed in as workers rushed out
Save lives, was their only care.
They just went to work and never came home.
Now were living with holes in the air.
In a plane to the west, men cried Lets Roll!
Free men refuse to despair.
They chose to save others, not die like sheep.
Now were living with holes in the air.
A great roaring sound, tower two came down.
Quickly, we offered a prayer.
Tragedy not done, down came tower one.
Now were living with holes in the air.
We lost Battalion Chief Mike, the brave.
Beautiful Barbara, fair
Still in our hearts, they died as they lived
Now were living with holes in the air.
