Former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift tonight flatly stated that Obama had called Palin a pig.
"[T]he formation of the Palin Truth Squad couldn't have happened too soon, as we saw when Sen. Obama in Lebanon, Va., this evening uttered what I can only deem to be disgraceful comments comparing our vice presidential nominee Gov. Palin to a pig," Swift said.
"Sen. Obama owes Gov. Palin an apology," she said.
Asked why she was so confident Obama was "comparing" Palin to a pig, she said Palin was the only one of the four candidates on both parties' tickets who wears lipstick.
"She is the only one of the four candidates for president, or the only vice presidential candidate who wears lipstick," Swift said. "I mean, it seemed to me a very gendered comment."
But, Swift added, if "as part of his apology Sen. Obama wants to say, no, he was calling Sen. McCain -- who is a true hero in our country -- a pig, then I suppose we could wait en masse for an apology to that, as well."

I think Obama said it with calculated ambiguity, like when he scratched his face with his middle finger when talking about Hillary Clinton. It was meant as a veiled insult, but ambiguous enough to have somewhat plausible deniability that it was meant as an insult.
I like it. very clever.
You know, it’s perfectly true that McCain used that expression about putting lipstick on a pig.
But there IS a MAJOR DIFFERENCE.
His opponent hadn’t just made a great speech about hockey moms, pigs, and lipstick.
Sara Palin did.
There is NO DOUBT that the echo was deliberate, and that Obama’s audience cheered because they knew exactly what he was talking about.
Obama was pleased by the reaction, so he came out with a second foul comparison.
Words take on meanings in particular situations. During this past week, “lipstick” is a good instance of how that works.
I think the Breck Girl might’ve gotten to the pink supply first.
NObomba probably favors whorehouse red.
I think that it’s just the final straw. His comment after the pig in lipstick remark sounded like a slam at McCain (You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, its still going to stink, ). After a week of the Kook press’ crap the cesspit runneth over.
Childish brat.
The folks at DU and KOS are celebrating. They think this was some great intellectual “missle” that hit Palin.
HA HA HA.
These libs are so stupid. This does not help Obama. He will apologize on Wednesday, watch and see.
Regardless of what he truly meant, this is an unneeded distraction for Obama right now.
So may women are already upset at how they see Palin being treated in the MSM and by the Obama campaign. They will just see this as another slap at her. I mean women I have know for 20 years who never talk about politics are coming up and talking about Palin. They love her. And I cannot get over the anger they have about how she is being treated.
The DU/KOS folks are whistling past the graveyard on this one.
Obama should not even be engaging Palin so much. What is Obama running for, VP?
I can’t imagine some veteran democratic folks won’t get to Obama, and say enough already. Get back focused on your message, and lay off Palin.
All this does in keep Palin in the news.
And we now have 2 polls showing a 20% movement of women to McCain. That is all the evidence you need to know this is huge.
But driving home, I thought about it. Yeah, it is silly. But when you think of all the stupid ways the left has done the same thing to our guys, I really just plain don't care anymore. What's good for the goose...
I don't know if it was truly meant as a joke about Palin. Maybe it was. The pig with lipstick and the old fish. Seems like it was. It wouldn't have been a big deal to me, and I wouldn't have had the political brains to seize upon it. But then, that's why I'm not in politics, which is an inherently silly and petty business.
I love it, it smells right to me...and include a pic of Obama with lipstick..

“O’bama might not deserve this ....”
Sure he does, and WE deserve him to lose.
“Any women out there who are still undecided and think of voting for this genius, he just called a woman a pig....Is this the level of debate he has sunk to? “
And if my memories from high school serve me right - I don’t think the stinky fish comment was aimed at McCain either - even if it is old stinky fish.
“You can put lipstick on a pig, he said as the crowd cheered. Its still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. Its still gonna stink.”
Does anyone actually believe this wasn’t planned in advanced?
it seems ambiguously obvious to me
I've 4 different marinades that, besides making the tenderloin VERY tasty (24 hrs marination time, minimum), also remove any pork scent. Have fooled quite a few folks over the years guessing what they were eating.
His recoil, once told what he's just eaten, ought to be very interesting.
Marinade recipes on request, of course.
;^)
“But driving home, I thought about it. Yeah, it is silly. But when you think of all the stupid ways the left has done the same thing to our guys, I really just plain don’t care anymore. What’s good for the goose...”
Trying to ruin a man over an alleged 10 yr.old comment about pubic hair on a soda can comes to mind.
Potato”e” comes to mind.
He deserves it....and you better get that down.
I don't think he can get away with it because right after that he said You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, its still going to stink, Tell me that's not about McCain.
Like, that will fly.
They think that Dick Cheney is the world's greatest hardass. Just wait until Sarah Palin gets wound up and in a position of power.
Payback is.......well, you know.
