Obama aide questions McCain's honor
Politico ^ | 9/9/08 | Mike Allen

The Obama campaign took its most personal shot ever at Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Tuesday evening, questioning his honor over a claim in a new TV ad that the Democrat calls "perverse."

The issue was a new McCain advertisement belittling Obama's record on education, and accusing him of supporting sex education for kindergartners.

"Obama's one accomplishment?" the narrator asks. "Legislation to teach 'comprehensive sex education' to kindergartners. Learning about sex before learning to read? Barack Obama. Wrong on education. Wrong for your family."

Absolutely irresponsible to even question for a second the honor of Senator McCain. For a politician that says he's going to "be above it all" when it comes to political tactics, Obama sure is playing in the gutter a lot these days.

So. Did Obama vote for a bill that permitted or mandated sex education for kindergarteners, or not. That is conspicuously missing from his statement.

Obama now knows what a man must be feeling as he watches an avalanche roll down a hill towards him.

Obama’s petty name-calling is dishonorable. He is the most un-presidential candidate for President I have ever seen.

Obama’s campaign is reduced to name calling. No offense, all defense.

LOL! With the wheels off his bandwagon tonight, all he has left is insult! He can't really even address the charges. Where's that hard hitting response Barry? And no - we do not mean impugning McCain's honor! Even those of us who have disagreed with aspects of his policies have never once questioned his patriotism. He served his country dearly and such an attack shows the Obama campaign doesn't know what it is doing!

Exactly. Its better not to interfere. He will do the job all by himself.

0bama was above it all ... when he was above it all. Now that his popularity is being overshadowed by the new kid in town, he resorts to playground tactics. New kind of politician my foot.

Questioning the honor of a military hero. They really shouldn’t be going there. I wish I had a dollar for every time I have said “They really shouldn’t be going there” over the past ten days.

I think Team Obamaden is in the throes of a meltdown. There was a post on FR yesterday about the five stages of liberal meltdown over Palin - denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The nutroots, media and Obamunists have been well into the anger stage for several days now, and it appears that now the Obamaden campaign - including the candidates themselves - have arrived at the anger stage also.

Obamadon the Ramadan moron. Has this guy lost his mind? Each day his statements and Biden statements are getting more demented and moronic. He must be so confused, now that he is getting his butt kicked

Just to clarify, N0bambi has been in the gutter since day one. His whole “above it all” characterization is just another one of his big steaming piles.

McCain is vulnerable here. He gets prickly when his honor is called into question. They will be shooting for this.

The spokesman, Bill Burton, is the same slime-spewing pig that made the statement about Palin being a “mayor of a small town”. He is almost as disgusting as his boss.

It was discussed that Biden might be tossed from the ticket. I can see Barry in his hotel room, head in his hands telling his staff he’s not feeling well and he’s not going out there today. Get someone else to put on the lipstick and sell this crap cause he’s not doing it anymore.

Has a major candidate ever just tossed in the towel? Did McGovern, Mondale, Dole or Dukakis ever just stop attending and spending money? Figuring at some point to stop throwing good money after bad?

One of the great things about McCain and Palin is they are both “real”. They are what they are and don’t run from it. It’s hilarious how this TOTALLY confounds the Obama people. I think they’re truly mystified why their silly smears and childish “tit for tat” attacks don’t stick.
