Who reads more, Republicans or Democrats?

Amazon.com today launched a site that tracks America's political book buying.

Books are classified as red, for right-wing, blue for left-wing and purple for neutral.

How does it look as of today? Most of America appears to be reading red.

Check it out.

The site will be updated daily, and allows people to track book buying over time. It also has a tab to compare the 2008 election to 2004.

Amazon created the map using its political book sales data.

Reading “more” shouldn’t be the question.

WHAT specifically is being read? For example, many Freepers, bless their heart, try to understand the world better via sustained reading of history.

Democrats will claim they read more at the library or book stores than they buy online books. Which may be true, but who really cares. It is not how much you read that matters, it is what you read.

How many books did pelosi sell, 5 or 6? I think there were more negative reviews than copies sold.

Idiots. Some of us live in high cost, high property tax, areas with public libraries that most people think exist only in the wet dreams of the squishiest of liberals. And some of us that live in places like that actually use those libraries.

This is ridiculous. Voter demographics revealed long ago that a large portion of democrat voters are illiterate with a few million barely able to speak English. Ask yourself what fraction of democrats graduated high school?

I think it's about even. But Republicans don't move their lips when reading.

re: Democrats will claim they read more at the library

I think the Democrats at my local libraries are not there for the books. They are there for the free movies.

I checked my state, Colorado, and had to laugh.

The top red book: Freddoso, “The Case Against Barack Obama”. It 298 pages long, with adult words.

The top blue book: “Goodnight Bush, A Parody”. It is a picture book of 48 pages, which parodies Margaret Wise Brown’s “Goodnight Moon”, the children’s book.

Typical Colorado libs. They develop their worldview from picture books.

I know. I mean how much would it be skewed the other way if political books were illustrated, with word bubbles. ;o)

intersting in NJ, more conservative books are being read than liberal, by a large margin I might add.

I know most will not agree, but looking at the grassroots, I think NJ has a chance to go Republican this time around.

I belong to Amazon Prime for shipping which means I buy a lot of books from Amazon — suffice it to say that I NEVER buy liberal books. I have a whole collection of conservative books.

I think I remember Ann Coulter saying that the Bible isn’t counted for such lists, and neither are religious devotional books.

That would make the list sway even farther ... red.

....depends on what the individual reader wishes to read. You could break it down to who reads socialist propaganda and those who find interests in the constitution. Those who like fiction and those who deal with facts. Depends on the authors, those who promote themselves, or those who seek recognition for others
