World wants Obama to be next US president: poll
ABS/CBN News ^ | 09/09/2008 | Agence France-Presse

LONDON - Most people across the world would prefer Democrat Barack Obama to win the US presidential election over his Republican rival John McCain, a new poll spanning 22 countries showed Tuesday.

The BBC World Service survey found the most common view in all nations polled was that Obama -- who staged a euphoric European tour two months ago that included a speech to 200,000 fans in Berlin -- should win in November.

An average of 46 percent of all those questioned thought US relations with the rest of the world would improve if Obama took office, compared to just 20 percent for McCain, the survey of 22,500 people found.

Global approval ratings for the United States are currently low -- a BBC World Service poll earlier this year found 49 percent of people surveyed had a negative view of US influence, compared to 32 who viewed it positively.

Those most optimistic about an Obama presidency's impact on US external relations were people in America's NATO allies -- Canada, France, Germany, Britain and Italy -- as well as Australia, Nigeria and Kenya, where Obama has family.

Forty-six percent said having a black US president would "fundamentally change" their perception of the United States, and 27 percent said it would not.

"Large numbers of people around the world clearly like what Barack Obama represents," said Doug Miller, chairman of GlobeScan which conducted the poll.

“The survey was carried out in July and August in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Britain and the United States.”

Folks, this is a re-hash of OLD news...this survey was taken BEFORE the conventions and the Sarah Palin pick. Anything to prop up the Media’s candidate, even as the Titanic is sinking!

Obama is hoping for a ‘57’ State landslide, but he will take any and all electoral votes from France, Kenya and Indonesia.

Obama = destruction of the USA and freedom with the help of Liberals in the US Congress.

No wonder the world is rooting for this dictator to get elected.

No surprises there.

Note to “the rest of the world”, where is your star on the AMERICAN flag. Oh, no where

Nowhere... yet!

Obama promised me 57 states. Assuming he and Obiden go with their original plan and carve up Iraq into three countries, then we're only at 53. Afghanistan makes 54. Who are the other three lucky contenders?

Look out, Germany. Obama seemed to like it over there. And what Obama likes, he takes. (55?)

I wonder who will be next to fall during Obama's reign as imperial warlord?

Gee... And in other news, the rest of the NFL is secretly glad that Tom Brady is out for the season.

And for the same reason...

Sez ABC/CBS/BBC---yawn.

Sorry, my attention wandered. Now, tell me again why I should worry about the opinions of ingrates whose chestnuts we have been raking out of the fire for close to a century. They are so stupid they have allowed their media to brainwash them; yet where do all wish to immigrate when things are bad at home?

I am thinking of replacing my moniker--vaudine, with "I have a brain".

Dear World,

If you would like Sen. Obama to be the next US president, we will have to disappoint you - we can’t stomach his liberal, far left leaning extremism, lack of experience or reading from teleprompters.

However, we are willing to make a deal - we will trade Sen. Obama to YOU to become YOUR president in exchange for a Margaret Thatcher, Angela Merkel or Nicolas Sarkozy. In other words, we’ll trade you an empty suit of characterless rhetoric for principles, ethics and honor.

Deal?

Love,
The United States of America

(We’re the people who liberated you from fascism, nazism and communism - remember us?)

Well this must just be confounding the barnacles out of the lefty media. They are so successful in making Obama popular across the world (mainly by smearing conservatives and their leaders), yet they cannot get the American people to hold the same view.

And the fact that America’s image is weak overseas is because of the lefty media, because in other countries there is no pajama balance to the reporting, all of their smears and lies go over unopposed over there.

As if we need another reason to make sure Hussein is NOT elected.”

Countries with short memories who are perpetually ungrateful for all the times America has saved their butts with stemming the tide of a dictator or sending food to starving areas or sending medical aid for Aids or for the aftermath of earthquakes and tsunamis are not important, IMO. Their “opinions” just don’t count and no one is asking for “their opinions”.
Citizens who continue to see their refugees die by the thousands because Indonesian “leaders” won’t let rescue supplies come in or keep voting for Assad in Syria or the NUTJOB in Iran or Chavez in Venezuela don’t deserve to put those same standards onto America.
As each year passes, I am more convinced that we should cut off ALL foreign aid and re-evaluate who appreciates our help and discard the rest to the trash heap.
I don’t give a rat’s behind what other countries of the world want for our President.

They are jealous of our success and angry that we are always generous with help when needed.

Countries that refuse to let ships laden with refugee supplies like Indonesia and N Korea can pound sand.
I want a President and Vice President who can stand up to the weak-wristed, yellow spined “leaders” who have ruined their own countries and think they can ruin ours, also.

Liquid DNA on all of them!!!!

Yes, it is. And I have a much higher respect for the people of Paris, TX than I do of the people in Paris, France.

Remember the headline from the British Press the day after Kerry lost in 2004?

HOW CAN 53,000,000 AMERICANS BE SO STUPID?"

I dare say many of us have not forgotten.
