We do know as head of the Harvard Law Review, he wrote ONE article when most use that to write a lot of articles.

He was selected to be head of the HLR; he didn't make it on grades. And I'm not sure he wrote even one article.

“There is danger that, if the court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will convert the constitutional Bill of Rights into a suicide pact.”

He doesn't seem to connect the dots. He continues to run his mouth off about 'Bush' not catching OBL. The President isn't running around looking for the guy. Soldiers are doing this and some are losing their lives doing it. He is mocking the soldiers and diminishing their efforts. He is so glib and childish. This is why he gets the support of the KosKids. The are a bunch of dweebs.

I think there should be a pool on FR about what date this guy completely spazzes out. He can not conceptualize the idea that there are people who do not like him. He is a mental case.

But that suspension pertains to American citizens, not enemy combatants. To pertain to them, the enemy combatants would have to be entitled to habeas corpus in the first place which, of course, they’re not.

Bingo!

As with all liberals, Obama doesn’t understand what the Constitution is all about. The left has a common disrespect for the Constitution. They enjoy trampling on it as often as possible.

So it’s eaither kill them outright or extend them the full rights of US citizens. WTF?

That's exactly what he said, believe it or not.

I can’t wait to see how many people show up at Fairfax High School Wednesday for the McCain/Palin rally.

There seems to be a lot of interest. My daughter and I are going, because we are witnessing history here — the first female VP in our Nation’s History.

"My position has always been clear: If you've got a terrorist, take him out," Obama said. "Anybody who was involved in 9/11, take 'em out."
But Obama said captured suspects deserve to file writs of habeus corpus.
Calling it "the foundation of Anglo-American law," he said the principle "says very simply: If the government grabs you, then you have the right to at least ask, 'Why was I grabbed?' And say, 'Maybe you've got the wrong person.'"

So, Sarah was right. You would read them their Miranda Rights, give them a lawyer, arraign them, free them after they post bail and then allow them one phone call so they can tell their friends where they are where they can be picked up?

“Let them enforce their decision.”

Unfortunately that only works if both the Pres. and Congress are willing to stand up to the S.Ct. This wimpy Congress does not have the guts to stand up to abuse of power by the judiciary, and without the support of the Congress, the President can’t get away with thumbing his nose at the black-robed thugs.

The Constitution is also for those we allow into this country. A Brit is as protected by it as you if he is here legally. Our laws are written to over citizens and non-citizens alike and they must be in a civilized country.

Now if you come here illegally or to kill us the Constitutional protections start to go away but are not entirely absent.

“[W]hen a strict interpretation of the Constitution, according to the fixed rules which govern the interpretation of laws, is abandoned, and the theoretical opinions of individuals are allowed to control its meaning, we have no longer a Constitution; we are under the government of individual men, who for the time being have power to declare what the Constitution is, according to their own views of what it ought to mean.”

Terrible dilemma for our troops - if they capture these terrorists, they may be facing them again in a few months.

OK I got a real problem with this point......

“My position has always been clear: If you’ve got a terrorist, take him out,” Obama said. “Anybody who was involved in 9/11, take ‘em out”

It implies in simple logic that you cannot act until after the person commits the crime... and you must know everyone that committed the crime and judge them first and kill them without regard without investigation. So in fact by his own admission there really is no reason to give Habeous Corpus because you already Took them out....

So help me out here. Who is the old guard fiberal that Uhbamuh has as a running mate? His name escapes me and I’m thinking they should start one of those “Where’s (insert VP candidate name here)” series of books, as he has become quite invisible of late.

Last seen on the side of a milk carton.

Interesting that he called it “Anglo-American” law. As if it doesn’t apply to him just to Anglos?
He must be french - they are the only ones that refer anglo americans.
