I have been “stiffed” three times in my 30 year professional career by someone who I rendered services to, gave a finished product to, but who refused to pay for those services even though they acknowledged the services and products were correct, were what they asked for, and were never challenged for not being correct. I am lucky in having only three, but those three hurt badly.

Joe Biden was one of those people...

First off, why recap you entire political history to your family, as if they didn't know (hhmmm...) and then state that he has since been paid in full but will not provide any documenation? I saw, bogus to the flack cover.

thanks for doing the research. the Democratic ticket is target rich enough without needing to add false accusations to the mix.

false accusations and baseless rumors are wrong as a matter of principle and they also (as we see in the case of the various smears against Sarah Palin) have a tendency to backfire.

I don’t think it’s wrong to post a rumor that has not been verified, as long as you state very clearly that you are posting it in the hope that someone can either prove it or debunk it. That way, if someone just reads the post and doesn’t follow the discussion they will not run the risk of passing on a lie. Also, it will challenge folks to do a bit of digging, rather than just forwarding (as the liberals have been doing with Sarah Palin rumors all week).

Not exactly true. It WAS a private email not intended for distribution, AND the issues have been "resolved"...

...the matter has been resolved between him and Joe Biden and that part of the bill has been paid.

The air lease company bill for $150,000+ in chartered flights WAS paid in full.

HOWEVER, Biden's personal debt for +$15,000 for campaign finance filings from the 1988 campaign was NOT paid. Instead it was written off by Mr. Riddle.

Riddle told TruthOrFiction.com that since the time he sent out the email, Biden has paid the bill for the jet flights and Riddle decided to write-off the other bill because it was from so long ago.

SO... Biden did stiff him on the 20 year old bill.

That's the way the cow ate the cabbage... Biden did NOT pay the one bill. $15,000 plus say 8% per annum interest on the annual balance due (principal + accumulated interest) over twenty years = $69,914.

These were NOT baseless rumors - and the matter was resolved with the current campaign debt owed a corporation being paid, BUT the old debt owed personally to the CPA for his work being written off after 20 years. NOT PAID.

In the second picture that flag is flown properly:

The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

With them running things our lives, property and country would be in dire distress!

That leaves open the question of whether or not Biden would have paid, or was he embarrassed into paying because of this email going “to the world”.

Mea culpa! My description of the rumors as “baseless” was itself baseless!

Still it’s odd that Mr. Riddle would issue a statement saying the matter was closed when in fact only one of the two debts was paid.

Maybe that’s why they call him Mr. Riddle.

And maybe that’s why he’s beseiged by folks asking for clarification.

Closed = resolved, OK I admit that it implies “paid”...

BUT when you consider the turmoil the public release caused this guy, ending it by saying it is resolved (but resolved by writing the one debt off) was what he needed to do.

In any event, the point is not why he wrote it off, it is why Biden never paid his bill in any of the preceding 19 years.

Unfortunately politicians of both parties find it easy to convince themsaelves that if they lose an election they don’t have to pay campaign debts. I had to sue a losing GOPer for 15k. It wasn’t fun.
