Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (to nowhere), SHE eventually KILLED THE PROJECT, choosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.
However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted FOR funding the Bridge, EVEN when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.
Sen. McCain did not vote on the Coburn Amendment, though he is ON RECORD AS OPPSOING the Ketchikan bridge earmark.
McCain did not support it and the one person who had the real say so about it KILLED IT!
Distribute far and wide please.
Ouch. This is going to hurt The One even more than he’s already hurting.
“EVEN when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief. “
Bump.

Obama must think Americans are stupid...
I am sure that Schmidt has this on a flashcard for Sarah when they RATStooges bring this up in the debate.
I love the smell of burning careers in the afternoon......
Where are the “journalists” in the MSM on this?
nObama does think Americans are stupid.
Good point on some of this being brought out during the debates.
McCain’s team may not be wanting to immediately dispute everything Obama is coming back on. They are probably setting up Obama/Biden for some zingers during the debates.
Don’t show all your cards up front.
This is probably one on them. Yea, I think you may be right.
I heard an Obama supporter on Sean's show today taking Sarah to task about the “bridge to nowhere”. Hehehehe, his head will explode with he finds out “the brother” voted for it twice along his clown VP nominee. Bwahahahahahahaha.
“Obama and Biden Voted FOR “Bridge to Nowhere”
They ARE the “Bridge to Nowhere”.
No the bro’s head won’t explode, they’ll do what they always do MAKE EXCUSES!
The campaign needs to feed out an op-ad right now. It doesn’t even have to be 30 seconds expensive. We can tell this in fifteen.
I went to the new republic site where they are citing Palin’s support for the bridge during the 2006 Gubernatorial Election. The question she actually answered goes as follows:
5. Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?
Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now—while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.
This question was asked in October 2006.
Now the initial cut of the Bridge to Nowhere was HR 3058 signed into law November 2005.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/11/20051130-12.html
The money was put into Alaska General Transportation Fund, and in 2006 upon election, Governor Palin determined that the bridge was not a priority to build. In September of 2007, the state funds for the bridge were re-directed away from the project.
I would point out that the question was whether Palin would use STATE funds to continue the works projects, which also included a bridge in the Anchorage Alaska Area.
Each state receives these general transportation funds.
Remember how Clinton and Gore were “The Bridge to the 21st Century”?
Well, you are right - Obama/Biden voted for and ARE “The Bridge to Nowhere”.
Pass it on.
Not just “hurricane relief”, it was to repair a hurricane damaged bridge in Louisiana... Obama and Biden don’t care about the citizens of Louisiana and want their bridges to collapse...lol
he knows that at least 50% of them are-he won the Dem primary.
Hahahahaha!stop. please stop.Hahahahah!
