Does this nimrod even think about his nonsensical answers before he makes them? Look, Plugs, if we’d given back control two and a half years ago, before the surge, Al-Qaeda would be running Anbar. The idea of the surge WAS to bolster the ability to give Iraqi control to the various regions.
It’s as if Biden was around during secession saying “we need to abolish slavery” but isn’t in favor of armed conflict to do so. Lincoln fights and wins the Civil War, to have Biden say “yeah, well, the War only allowed them to do what I said four years ago, which was free the slaves.”
It totally scares me that this idiot would be heartbeat away from the Presidency. And he’s bringing “foreign affairs knowledge” to the ticket?

Joe Biden: The surge has allowed us to allow more local control, not the other way around.
Al Gore: Atmospheric CO2 rises after global temperature rise, not the other way around.

Yo, Joe. Get with your running mate and get on the same page. Obama’s story is that the surge was more successful than anyone imagined and has provided stability.
BTW - Your running mate didn’t credit you with the current stability in Iraq. You might want to get him to start saying things like that.
