If I am not mistaken the creator of ebay was one of the people in the running as McCains VP spot.

Bet she would love to see how the DU'ers put the company logo in disrepute.

I just finished an online help session with an ebay rep. I reported this and below you will see the conversation. Actually this was not a real ebay ad...note there is no item number, so it was hard to figure out who on eBay to contact. But I went the route of doing an online conversation and was assured they would look into this and do what they should. Mainly, obviously to protect themselves, but I am sure they will contact the DU!! And issue some statement for the media in case this makes the news. Here is the link she advised to use to report this again (for verification of our conversation) and I think anyone here who is an eBayer might want to also go to this link and inform eBay of this.

Hi...there is a phony ebay ad circulating on the Internet that is totally disgusting. It was done by someone affiliated with a political group. I think eBay might want to alert their lawyers and contact the website that has posted the ad (even if removed) because it was captured and is still circulating. If the media gets this, eBay will be called to respond, so lawyers should be prepared. Here is the link to the ad on the website:

I tried to find some place on ebay to write to them about this, but didn't fit any categories as it is a fake ad. So I have contacted you this way.

To the trust and safety dept? As I recall, there needs to be an item number or something...and because this is a phony ad, there is none of course. If I cannot forward a report that way, anything else I can do?

Great. I have copied our conversation and the link. I appreciate your immediate action on this. I am sure eBay will want to get on it right away.

You might want to add to the title of this thread that eBay has been contacted about this. If you read through the posts you will see I did that, and others are fired up and contacting various media sources. But the thread title might need to be updated so people realize that right away. Thanks
