The link takes you to an absolutely disgusting post on DU today in which a poster puts up an Ebay auction page for Trig Palin.

Some of the posters at DU even thought it was over the top.
In case the post goes down the memory hole, I screen captured it. I also emailed David Allen:
"Dear Mr. Allen:
I am sure that your forum member bob_weaver's post of Sarah Palin's baby on Ebay will be of particular interest to special needs groups as well as several news organizations.
And to make sure that post does not disappear down the DU memory hole, it has been screen captured.

Yep...that is what I hoped eBay would feel and take legal action for that infringement and putting eBay in disrepute. I hope I hear back from them soon. When I do, I will post it on FR. And they will be sure to know that FReepers caught this.

Well, kozanne, welcome to the FR. You sure arrived here with a bombshell for your first post! Excellent job of catching something that needed to be outed! You go girl (assuming you might be a girl)! As you can see, I rushed to take some action, and in my hurry forgot to congratulate you. This is what FReepers do - get the information out there and the story so America will see what is going on. You did a great service to the FR and to the Palin family, and enabled me to even help eBay. I am sure the others who have posted feel the same. And, I am sure those who contacted the media will be satisfied when it makes the news as it should. Thanks again. Great start!

You might want to add to the title of this thread that eBay has been contacted about this. If you read through the posts you will see I did that, and others are fired up and contacting various media sources. But the thread title might need to be updated so people realize that right away. Thanks

As ‘sophisticated’ as I think I am sometimes, I still can’t understand some of the things people do at the expense of others just to advance an agenda.

Oh, I actually got my information from a poster friend of mine on another board, but didn’t know how to credit him for it. I think, though, that the important thing is that we get this message out. Thank you for congratulating me, but I don’t really mind if that gets forgotten.
To me, it’s all about breaking the death grip the left has had on this country and being the nation God called us to be once again. Our founding fathers and mothers didn’t go through the things they went through so that we could sit still while the most innocent among us is used to advance an evil agenda. Believe it or not, until Sarah came along, I was really despairing for our country and was worried sick that Obama would win the White House. I wasn’t going to vote.
But, as you can tell, that has certainly changed. I have hope again, and I am willing to fight, as I’m sure are many on this board.

There’s the old saying if you give your enemy enough rope, they will hang themselves.
DU has been thinking they had a free range to do or say anything without consequence, this time they crossed not only a moral line but I think a legal one as well.
I’m glad you were able to post this outrage on FR, I tried it and was blocked because FR policy about posting anything from DU wasn’t allowed. I’m just glad someone was able to not let this thing disappear.

I don't go there, so I dont know: did they leave the thread for a night or so? If yes, I think it's valid that the mod left it and shared the insights. In that case, yes, we need to bring it to the public. The ones that their mod took down in 5-10 mins after being posted, however, shouldn't be an issue. As I said, FR also has its share (albeit much smaller) of cuckoos who don't think before postings. The Admins rightly take those posts down.
