When does she get to be on her own? And when does she get to use new material? I know she is capable of delivering new lines.
Mmmmmmmmm, the Golden Lamb. One of my favorite restauarnts in America! This shows the McCain/Palin campaign has good taste too!
Is Maverick going to be there too? Cunningham didn’t mention him!!!!
I just heard her in MO. She did a great job, seemed like a lot of new stuff in that one.
Here’s a posting about the Palin visit to Ohio. Hope to see you there. Do you know other FReepers around here to tell?
I WANT TO GO!!!!! My Aunt worked as Dining room supervisor at the Golden Lamb for years. We got treated once in a while...great place. I was born at Jewish Hospital and grew up in Amelia.
I live in a very conservative town in MS, I dont look to be able to see her in person around here.
Maverick and Barracuda both delivered pretty much new speeches in Missouri, although hers wasn’t as new as his was.
I thought he really gave a great speech, content-wise. He’ll never be confused with a great orator, but he wins on the sincerity of how he presents his ideas. I wish he could lose the ‘my friends’ rhetorical device. But it’s so ingrained by now that I doubt if he can.
Watching them dive into the crowd after that speech is scary. The Secret Service must have heart palpitations every time they do that.
BTW, it looked like Todd Palin was being asked for autographs almost as much as his wife, LOL!
There were a few new things, but she repeated a bunch of her lines from the convention, too. I think there is a belief that you repeat them for a few weeks until you make sure everyone on earth has heard them. I think you make yourself stale. She should have a good speech on the stump that can be the same in every town, and then change that every few days, but she should not step on her great convention speech.
I’m glad she is using new material. The lines from her speech were aweseome and memorable but given the large audience she had, most people heard them already. McCain and Palen already have their inspirational bios out there — now they need to turn their attention to some specifics on their economic plan.
I’m in Anderson. Not too far from Amelia. Be sure to tell all your Ohio friends and family to see them. Great chance to see the future president and VP in person!
This is the next town over from me. :-)
UPDATE:
WLW is now reporting that the festivities start at 10:00 but you should get there at 7:00 for the best seats.
Thanks for the info. I just copied and pasted your post on the Ohio Freepers page.
I don’t know if I can make it that early. Do you know if they are flying into Lunken Airport?
They are flying into Lunken at 4:00 today. Not sure where staying but probably Cincinnatian.
I can’t make it today. Got Madiera Colts football practice.
Thanks for pinging Ohio folks!
Thanks. I just made a sign and will be leaving for the airport in a few minutes!
1st side: GO SARACUDA GO!
2nd side NO AMNESTY
I live in New Jersey now, but I loved the Golden Lamb. Stayed there years ago in the Charles Dickens room! What a cool place to be and I’m sure it’ll be great. Someone take pictures!
Here is a short video of Sarah at the Lunken Airport in Cincy today.

Here’s an excerpt from the Dayton Daily News, about today’s McCain-Palin rally. Great crowd size, enthusiasm, etc., inspite of the weather! Way to go Ohio!!!
‘snip’
Lines were well-established here at 6 a.m. today for the visit by McCain and Palin, with some people camping overnight.
At 10 a.m,, people were still lined up for blocks on Silver Street trying to pass metal detectors near the Golden Lamb, with a steady stream still coming in to hear the Republican candidates for president and vice president. A Secret Service agent estimated the crowd 6,000 in the barricades and nearly 10,000 lining the streets of Lebanon.
“This is the largest crowd I’ve seen for an event like this,” said the representative, who could not give his name because of security issues.
