...I think the fact that the report/findings is NOW to be published before the election attests to that.....

The results of the “investigation” could be presented tomorrow morning, and they will not be different from what would be produced on October 31st, or October 10th, or September 19th.
Don’t confuse this with a fact-finding mission. It is a smear, plain and simple.
And a very hollow, ineffectual smear, at that.

This story will of course be glossed over until sometime in mid to late October.

I dont’ know about ineffective. The libs are hellbent on spreading FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, & Doubt) this election season. Just enough to keep swing voters from voting for McCain/Palin

I thought it was well-established that Democrats are permitted to use judicial investigations for partisan advantage...just ask Tom DeLay, Scooter Libby, or the Duke lacrosse team.

As long as you know it's coming, you can do a lot to inoculate yourself to an October surprise, and possible flip it your advantage. Clinton was legendary in this regard, and I think that McCain's people will play hardball here. By the time this report comes out (assuming prior to the election), that Democrat and his team will be Ken Star’d.
...as opposed to Bush-41 when he had to deal with the Iran-Contra indictments 5 days prior to the election. Their reaction was something to the effect: “oh, how unfortunate”.

This dildo, Hollis French, is already running around saying that this report is going to be the ‘RATS “October Surprise.” The boy sure needs a swift kick in the ass. I hate non-Americans.

This is an Alaskan state ethics investigation funded with $100,000 of the state taxpayers money.... The State of Alaska needs to take this partisan jerk in hand. Who does he think he is- Patrick Fitzgerald? One thing I expect of Alaska is they don’t put up with this posturing hockey puck.

I will still say that I think the findings will indicate that Gov Palin was overzealous in asking about Wooton Monegan was appropriately let go. Gov Palin is so popular there right now it would border on suicide. You would always be known as the guy who messed up Palin. Why would some one who may become sentor or Governor of Alaska risk it? Governor Palin has also worked with Democrats and is (from what I've read) liked and respected by most of by them.

At least they’re not spreading ELMER! (Egregious Lies Maiming Every Republican)

I think Palin’s Republican enemies will now rally around her and kill this joke of an investigation. It is in their interest to see her elected and get her out of the state so they can go back to business as usual. The same reason political bosses in NY supported and pushed TR as McKinley’s VP.

If these folks think they can ruin Sarah Palin in middle America with something like this, they are delusional.

Yep, they’re gonna keep it in their ‘lock box’ until needed.

The report was going to be released on Friday, October 31 just four days before the election. It is now going to be released on Friday, October 10 which allows the McCain/Palin campaign three weeks to neutralize it. Especially when the trooper in question was so obviously out of control. A ten-year old boy being tasored by his trooper step-father, Palin’s father being threatened by this goon, the trooper going into unlocked homes and taking beer? Come on, for the head of the state police not to take action is criminal in itself.

(Unlike Obama in the IL & US senate, Sarah Palin could not vote "present" on local council issues)
