It’s not a tempest in a teapot. Besides Obama making a fundamental slip of the tongue about his faith, we have a top interviewer helpfully correcting him. Since when has a top interviewer helpfully corrected a Republican who made a slip like that in an interview?

I've never slipped up and said I was Jewish or Muslin or Methodist for that matter.

What else is new? Interviewer helpful to the Democrat; happens all the time. And it appears to me that Obama is simply saying that McCain himself did not say that Obama held to the Muslim faith.

It's odd that obama could actually say this and not realize he said it. Unless it's true. When I say something stupid, it registers right away. Of course, it is under some pressure, but still. That's part of the job.

They will try to excuse him. Can you imagine if Palin said something like, "I hate black people, I mean, I hate black dresses on people."
