Is Sarah Palin the new Dick Cheney? (Projectile vomit alert)
LA Times ^ | 9/7/2008 | Johanna Neuman

Posted on 09/07/2008 6:27:08 AM PDT by markomalley

Of course Sarah Palin is much cuter than Dick Cheney. As the must-have Republican political button from St. Paul put it: "Hottest VP from Coldest State."

And it sounds like she's better with a gun than the vice president, who accidentally shot a friend while on a hunting trip in South Texas.

But lots of folks are beginning to draw a parallel between Cheney, with his secret meetings on energy policy, and Palin, the pistol-packing soccer Mom who took on -- and beat -- the political establishment in Alaska.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, in an interview today with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, calls Palin a "skilled politician" but says his rival Republican John McCain "chose somebody who may be even more aligned with George Bush -- or Dick Cheney -- or the politics we've seen over the last eight years -- than John McCain himself is."

And last week on the same program, John Kerry, the Democrats' 2004 presidential nominee, said Palin is a member of the "flat earth caucus" whose views of climate change are reminiscent of Vice President Cheney.

"With the choice of Gov. Palin, it's now the third term of Dick Cheney, because what he's done is he's chosen somebody who actually doesn't believe that climate change is man-made," said Kerry, who also called Palin "Cheney-esque" in her views of social issues.

>>Of course Sarah Palin is much cuter than Dick Cheney.<<

How is Sarah Palin different from Barak Obama?

One is pretty and inexperienced and the other kills her own food.

The country could do much worse than a third term of Dick Cheney. For instance any term of Obama or Biden.

If the author means is Sarah Palin the new person that the Left and the idiot media will make spurious remarks about, the answer is a resounding yes.

“She’s also a better driver than Teddy Kennedy”

Excellent point — I’m 100% positive that Governor Sarah Palin’s guns have killed less American’s than Teddy Kennedy (oooppss, Teddy Kennedy’s car). So much for tolerance - from the tolerance party.

“According to Michelle Malkin (March 8, 2001), ex-Klansman Robert Byrd, the senior senator from West Virginia, casually used the phrase “white insert n word here” twice on national TV this weekend. Enraged civil rights groups organized a protest campaign against Sen. Byrd and demanded that he undergo sensitivity training ... not.

The ex-Klansman, you see, is a Democrat. Democrats can join hate groups and utter the ugliest racial slurs and get away with it because they are Democrats. They belong to the party of racial tolerance and understanding. They’re paragons of virtue, and the rest of us are bigoted rubes.

The ex-Klansman showed his true colors when asked by Fox News Sunday morning talk show host Tony Snow about the state of race relations in America. Sen. Byrd warned: “There are white insert n word here. I’ve seen a lot of white insert n word here in my time. I’m going to use that word. We just need to work together to make our country a better country, and I’d just as soon quit talking about it so much.”

The ex-Klansman, famed for Beltway blowhardism, should have quit talking a lot sooner. Why any prominent politician in his right mind would publicly and deliberately use the poisonous epithet “insert n word here” — which most daily newspapers refuse to spell out, no matter the context — is beyond comprehension. It’s an open question as to whether the rant-prone, 83-year-old Byrd is even in his right mind, but senility doesn’t excuse bigotry.

The ex-Klansman’s admirers praise his historical knowledge, mastery of procedural rules, and outspokenness. They refer to the Senate’s senior Democrat as the “conscience of the Senate.” They downplay his white-sheet-wearing days as a “brief mistake” — as if joining the Klan were like knocking over a glass of water. Oopsy.

This ex-Klansman wasn’t just a passive member of the nation’s most notorious hate group. According to news accounts and biographical information, Sen. Byrd was a “Kleagle” — an official recruiter who signed up members for $10 a head. He said he joined because it “offered excitement” and because the Klan was an “effective force” in “promoting traditional American values.” Nothing like the thrill of gathering ‘round a midnight bonfire, roasting s’mores, tying nooses, and promoting white supremacy with a bunch of your hooded friends.”

Sssssooooooo, what I think Michelle is saying is, that unless you get drunk, drive your car off a bridge and kill an American, attend a church where your Rev. espouses anti-American and anti-American Values, become a lesbian, abort an unborn fetus and use the N word — you’re not welcome in the modern Dem party...well isn’t that a fine how-do-ya-do.

Yes, the MSM is still at it this morning. They are so stupid, they’re actually helping McCain win this thing. Keep it up losers. They think Palin is actually afraid to go on their stupid Sunday talk shows. That’s the latest. They were even talking about how she went to 3 different colleges to get her degree. The MSM is gutter filth and they’re upset that Sarah has called them out and exposed them for the biased DNC shills they are.

If Byrd were a Republican he would be making headlines of mockery everyday with the senile drivel that he spews forth regularly on the Senate floor.

I’ve always thought Cheney was cute, just in a more avuncular sort of way.

And the important point is that they both hunt, which requires killing live things.

So, according to Kerry, believing that climate change is not man-made is believing that the Earth is flat?
